Heard this on Jim Rome today.
"Greek Judo athlete jumps off of balcony after lover does not let her play computer solitaire FIRST!. She is in real bad condition. Well yesterday (2 days after initial jump), her boyfriend couldn't stand not being with her, so HE JUMPED off same 3 story balcony face first. Neither of them are dead yet, but are officially the "DUMBASS COUPLE OF THE YEAR".

I pulled this poor guy out with my titan :jester:
Hey that's almost what mine looked like :teethmast J/K

after reading up on some of the things that have happened, I don't feel so bad for backing my Titan into the carport support column LOL But hey we all do stupid things at one time or another, just costs some of us more than others! :jester:

Stupid 2

I was installing my Access Tonneau cover, after flip flopping the install a couple times... (techies never read manuals even the not techie ones). Finally had everything installed had to adjust the fit. So I put my socket wrench on the rear bumper and drop the tailgate slowly and feel this resistance .. ding oh snike you dumbarse .... to late.... now I ahve this nice ding in my tailgate :crying: ....

Morale of story, don't leave stuff on your rear bumper.... especially when opening your tailgate.

No damage but still dumbass.

It had been mostly overcast and raining for the week I got my Black Titan. I had bought it late on Sunday 7/25 and drove it to work M-F in the dawn hours and home at dusk M-Th. On Friday 7/30 the Lojack guy came to my office to do the install. When he finished he came into the office and gave me the paperwork. A few minutes later I went out to look at the truck for the first time in direct sunlight. Before my eyes appeared a miriad of glistening little spots which I attempted to wipe off in a small area with a wet paper towel as I was convinced that the guy had sprayed some kind of lubricant or some other crap on the finish. I really got upset with a really sick feeling in my stomach.

I was pissed but too busy to deal with it so I went back in and continued to work. While eating lunch I was looking at the invoice and noticed the color was Galaxy Black.....hmmmm.....Galaxy.....bunch of stars.....HEY IT's SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT!!!! :jester: Too Funny! Glad I didn't call Lojack and complain!

The finish is impeccable I just wish the salesman would have pointed that out....yeah...he's the dumbass not me! :jester:

my turn...

so i bought my new smoke titan last night, get home, hop out and notice the bunch of adhesive residue on the driver door. i go to scrape it off, but it was a no-go; grab a flashlight to take a closer look, and the sonofa***** is a big freakin' paint chip and not a glob of residue!

called the dealer this morning and yelled at them, then had my girlfriend drop it off at the dealer this morning; surprisingly, they were done fixing it within minutes- seems it doesn't take long to get adhesive residue off the door! =D

After reading this I now don't feel so bad about the scratch I put on my Black Titan on the second day of ownership. I decided to give the truck a was two days after buying so I could really clean it spotless. Went into the bed to wash out the bed with the hose. After closing the tailgate, I had the hose in my hand. I have one of those high powered heavy brass nozzles. I some how drop the hose and the hose nozzle hit the tail gate and scratched and gouged the paint. I felt so sick especially considering the truck really didn't even need to be washed. I started driving around looking at other peoples trucks and noticed that no one had even a single sratch on their trucks. so I felt like a real dumb***. I didn't even tell my wife because I am always cussing her how she always get dings, scrapes and sratches on her car.

Anyway, turns out that the dealer will be replacing the truck bed so I will end up getting a new tailgate anyway. Thank God!!!

busted mirror

Well I busted the little concave mirror off the pasenger side this morning backing out of the garage. I am the dumb *** of the day :). Bad part is I will likely ahve to replace the whole mirror.

Nothing to do with a Titan but you guys ever had your bikes on top of your car/truck and pulled into a garage!!! A friend of mine did that and totalled his mtb bike (it is one of those fancy bikes with only a single front fork - lefties bikes from Cannondale). I was behind him, honking but he thought I was telling to move quicker - he was not very happy to say the least.

Anybody besides me drained their oil into a 6 qt drain pan?? What a MESS!!

At least you weren't like that non-Titan owner that couldn't get his drain plug off so he unscrewed the oil filter and ran the engine until most of it came out of the filter hole.

Well, I may be a dumb***, but at least I ain't That Stupid! :jester:

I pulled a good one today. I was trying to wash the love bugs off my plastic fantastic xe front end and blew the paint off of it in a dime size spot. Bugs still there, paints gone!!

Just found this thread and figured I'd add my DA moment.....actually 2 of them since I've owned the Titan. I rarely scratch my vehicles, its usually something or someone else that does it but this time it was me.

First time was at our favorite fishing spot, Titan was 5 days old, hubby had driven down and parked the truck. He wanted me to drive home, so being used to my 04 Explorer (traded in) I backed the Titan up and forgot its bigger. Backed into a log that was laying in the campground, busted the 7-pin wiring.........$12.25 and a lot of crap from the parts guy at the dealer (has known me for ages) and we were back on track.

Second time was recently and I'm still miffed because I didn't do it just once but TWICE. My daughter was in the hospital for 3 weeks and I had the Titan in Anchorage with me, found that backing into the parking spaces in the parking garage was much easier than pulling in. Well, that's great except with the brush guard my truck really sticks out so I had to back it up tight to the wall.........that sickening thud that I heard was my bumper smacking the wall. Did this on 2 different occations in 1 week, my bumper has um, *character* now, poor truck.

Couldn't agree more CincyTitan. My drop hitch is fairly long and has saved my bacon backing up on several occasions! :teethmast

VShorrt - that sucks, I'd kick myself in the *** too. But I deserve an award too. Backing into a parking spot at work, still trying to get used to the massive size of my new Titan (used to drive an Altima), parking spaces are not that big now days anyway. You only have about 6 inches on each side to spare. I turned off my lights once I was situated and backed into my spot. With the lights off, I put my truck into park, or though I THOUGHT? I'd ended up putting in in reverse and felt my truck moving backwards and lightly tapped a big concrete base to a street light. Upon investigation, no damage was done, but it was a close call. Luckily, my truck only backed up about a foot, not enough space to get any speed up!
