Nice post Heli.. powerstroke who??Helinut1970 said:Look, let me settle this right now from an unbiased point of view.
1. The titan will smoke the new duramax hands down stock for stock.
2. The Duramax is a towing monster and will out power any stock powerstroke, z-hauler. 365 HP and 660 trq. (I am not sure about the new dual turbo powerstroke that just came out on the 3500 dually)
3. My duramax has a 13,000 lb tow capasity with a 2 1/2 in reciever. Not a 2" like the Titan
4. The Titan for its size is a towing monster. I proved that over and over again, But compared to the diesel in towing its no compitetion.
5. As far as breaking down? I have 11000 miles on mine in 4 months and not even a hint of a problem.
6. The new chevy has improved fit and finish dramaticly and is no longer the crap they produced last year.
7. If I mod this turbo diesel the idiot that was smacking the Titan would be very correct. It would leave the Titan in a cloud of black turbo smoke.
8. I only wish the Titan made a diesel, that would have been the choice for me.
I forgot to address this. 140???? Its not a vette! Mine will top out at 95. Yup thats not a typo I repeat 95!!!! Thats it, you can push the gas all the way to the floor it WILL NOT go faster than 95. But when you think about it who would be dumb enough to tow a load faster than that?Qx56_Destroyer said:Duramax is wayyy faster than a Titan and that a Duramax can do 140 mph. I say bs. He says a STOCK Duramax without the governor can do 140. what do you guys think? Can you help me brainstorm arguement ideas?
From what I have witnessed a crew cab long bed one ton Powerstroke will out perform a crew cab long bed one ton Duramax. Now I don't know the power ratings of the trucks in our fleet, but the Chevy is an '05 and the Ford is an '06 so I don't know if the engine in the Ford is more powerful then the ones you have experienced, but our powerstroke is faster and quicker than the other diesels we have and has also beaten my stock Titan by a lot.Helinut1970 said:The Duramax is a towing monster and will out power any stock powerstroke, z-hauler. 365 HP and 660 trq. ur info must not be correct there, the Allison is an auto tranny, so therefore it wouldn't have a clutch. but the Allison/Duramax combo is hard to beat. but then again the new Cummins comes with a 6 speed auto now too, the 68RFE Orion and that is a pretty stout tranny. but right now really all the diesel trucks are about equal as far as performance, but each one has little things here and there. like the fact that dodges have SFA, but the ford and gm's have way nicer interiors imo.redpickemuptruck said:The Duramax Allison combo is really hard to beat, a I was selling GMC's when they first came out. At the training/intro they hooked up a 10,000lb 5thwheel to a one ton with the 6 speed Allison. They had us put it in 3rd and drop the clutch without touching the gas. The truck didn't hiccup just started moving forward with no drama. Who cares how fast they are thats not what they are for.
