for those who are currently running a Bullet muffler, how do you rate it

If I do use this mic or my Radio Shack SPL meter I'll have to use my laptop and external sound card to capture it. I'm going to probably record a video of it first with just my camcorder today and then when I have some help bring out the other gear and do another recording.
awesome, cannot wait to hear it :coolsmile
hopefully gonna attempt the same thing. just hope it works..

EDIT: can't find my recording gear :crying::crying::crying:

Just got back from getting mine on. Louder than the Banks for sure, I think I'm finally happy with my exhaust but I'll give it a couple days before I make any other claims.

the bullet gets louder AND deeper after about a week or two. looks just like my setup rite now. i just squirted mine a fresh coat of heat treated flame proof black.

Alright guys here is my video, I had made five videos and put them into one for easy viewing :D

First part - under the truck looking at the pipes, and that weird *** y pipe LOL
Second part - inside startup and rev
Third part - really close to the truck outside revving
Fourth part - far away from the truck outside revving
Fifth part - riding around with a small WOT

Also, I waited on the HF cat install, it will be next week sometime. I couldn't really rev it too loud because of my neighbors.

I just got my headers, (JBA Shorties) my magnaflow cats are on order and I can't decide on which muffler to run....the bullet or spintech super pro street??
Sorry not trying to hijack this thread I am just really amped about my exhaust!!:redblob"

Mine pops a little bit, but I only have maybe 50 miles on it so far. Eddie says it gets better as it breaks in. At the rate I'm driving it I might be broken in by summer, lol.

I really do like this exhaust. It's friggin' obnoxiously kick-your-best-friend-in-the-nuts loud, but I like it! I'm liking the lack of drone much more now than my initial impression. It's not for everyone tho, as it increases road noise and does draw some attention. I mean, my mother in-law and probably most people over 50 wouldn't like it as much, but again, I think it's badass! :rockon

Just got back from a six hour round trip drive and I'm going to have to alter this setup somehow. Just too damn loud, never thought I would say it but it makes the Banks sound like the exhaust note of a Hyundai Accent. Cruising at 75mph wasn't too bad but anytime you have to give it gas it's too much inside the cab. Wife could barely hear me on the phone and I really had to crank the stereo to make out the vocals.

So, I'm going to try and extend the pip out past the rear tire instead of the turn down which I have a feeling it's still going to me too loud. Probably end up going back to a Magnaflow or something.

It's deep that's for sure and if it wasn't my daily driver I'd keep it, definitely get some looks driving around with it.

^^^umm yeah what he said. i like it, a lot, but if it's gonna get louder as it breaks in iono if i can handle the noise :teeth:

it's funny how some say there's no drone and some say there is. i have some in cabin vid of my drive home from the muff shop... i'll show you drone LOL!
stay tuned, tho, cuz youtube doesn't like me so i'm tryin to figure somethin' out.

the deep tone is perfect, but the drone... well i might get used to it, we'll see.

hmmm, funny. my spintech is LOUD but not too loud. drone is a couple decibels higher than the drone of a banks so its perfect and on top of it, it doesn't pop. zero break in time and zero break down (get louder) time. and it turns heads. and its confirmed now, it sets off car alarms on cars 3 cars over on start up, i couldn't believe it unless the cars sensitivity on his alarm is way turned up.

sorry, don't like the tone or the rasp :dunno: not my intent to start car alarms either. it's nothin' personal ;)

turn the youtube volume and your speaker volume up about half way to fully appreciate the loudness :teethmast windows were up. driving from the muff shop to my house is at a bit of a soft climb all the way home. sorry, no WOT this time (had the old piping and muffler in the bed and the flu, just kinda wanted to get home). opened it up a lil at the end to 60mph, about 2/3 throttle or so (which i think is louder). you can also hear the INJEN a bit. i'll try to get some more vids up tomorrow, maybe take it on the freeway.

Since you are the first to want it changed, why not make it out into a single tip like the JBA setup? You could be the first to try this :read: and see if it stops any of the small problems. :D

landshark, dumping your tail behind the rear axle will make a BIG difference, or even a side exit. don't waste money on a new muffler. you can make this work. there's also a turndown with a muffled tip to minimize the sound some. check out jegs.com and look at turndown pipes.

eddieslub, drone is the echoey roar from the exhaust. there's a difference in hearing the exhaust sound and hearing drone from your exhaust. compare to FM40 it's not even there. if it's a loud deep muffler, you will hear it from inside somewhat no matter who makes it. it's something you have to sacrifice if you want a loud deep sound. spintech for instance hooligan says theres hardly any drone, but the two sound totally different. spintech has a higher deep sounding tone and the bullet has a lower deep sounding tone. you might grow to like it over the next week.

just to clear up when i say it gets louder and deeper after a week or two, it's not that BIG of a difference but you will notice that it has gotten a more mature deepness to it. as for rasp or ping poppin, i couldn't tell you.....sorry, but i think no matter what system you go with, some say they have it, some say they don't.

I'm hoping my wife is ok with the change. She's outta town & has no idea I swapped out the FM40. :D I think if I was driving long distances at a time, I might not like the bullet as much. Right now, and for the next 3 years, i only drive it about 20-30 min at a time (+ the occasional 2-4 hr trip maybe twice per year).

well i think if she can handle long distant drives with a FM40, she might be pleased with the bullet.

I'm hopin'!! She might be alright. I was thinking she wouldn't like the lift as much once she actually saw it installed on the truck (she's not even 5'3"), but she really likes it! (So long as I'm the one puttin' the baby in the backseat ;))
