So i'm a newbie but i've been hovering for a while. I've got an 04 SE 4x4 and it does circles around my dads 05 F-150 Lariat. i'm driving to Indiana from Colorado for Thanksgiving. I've driven to Kansas City once before and got about 16mpgs (i thought it would be better since its downhill the whole way). Since right now i drive my truck at around 6000 ft elevation and when i get to Indiana it will be about 50ft, do you guys think that an ecu reset half way (in KC) might help with the mpgs. Thanks for the help.

Since the ECU is constantly checking and changing settings depending on a lot of different info while you drive, I don't see a reset doing anything for you. But if you have access to a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle for the trip, that'd be your best bet. Have a great holiday!
