This started happening to my 04 Titan a few months ago and I was just wondering if it has happened to anyone else or if anyone has any ideas on what the problem might be. When I start the truck it fires right up like normal but then it immediately goes quiet almost like it's about to die but then about a second later it comes back on again. It never actually dies but the RPM's go really low along with the sound. It's been happening for about 2 months maybe and the truck has never failed to start. And it runs great. I'm not overly concerned since it has yet to fail me but I guess I'm wondering if it could lead to a problem. does anyone out there have any ideas on what it could be and if it could end up getting worse? I'm stumped.

Sort of sounds like a choke problem. I know these newer vehicles don't have a manual choke anymore, but that's what it sounds like. Possibly a vacuum issue? And it only happens on start-ups? Does it do it on hot starts as well as cold starts?

It does it on hot or cold. It doesn't seem to matter. And i also failed to mention that it doesn't do it all the time. I would say something like 75% of the time. I've also got just under 50,000 miles on it.

Check and make sure that your throttle body is clean and the throttle plate is able to move free with no binding.
