Engine & trans skidplate...

831 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  loufish
I fabbed a skid plate (.125" 6061 aluminum) for my 04' 2wd non-OR. It runs from the engine x-member all the way back to the trans x-member, protecting the entire eng and trans pans.
Does anybody have pics of what the factory OR skid plates look like...

That's what I thought, but not sure. I wanted to really protect the trans area, there was nothing at all there before.

LMFAO!!! ha ha thats funny...
Looks Nice! I'd been thinking of the same, every oil change! :)

Do you have a Brake?
Nice work! Have you considered using countersunk or buttonhead bolts to prevent getting damaged or caught on stuff?

He should just seal it up a little tighter and put some cans of winter air in there:rofl:
Do you have a Brake?
Yes, a 48" finger brake...and a 36" shear.

Yes, but that was all the hardwhare we had on hand at the time...The metal's too thin for countersunk, but just fine for some buttonhead screws. The next time it comes off, new buttonheads go back on...
