Well my 2WD smoke Titan KC came today....finally. I oringially tried to order one back on Dec. 30 and the dealer said that there was one slated to go to a specific dealer that had all the options I wanted and he redirected it to my dealership. I was told on Dec. 30 to expect the middle of February.

Fast forward to Feb. 1st. I was told that delivery of my Titan would occur on Feb. 10. Needless to say, all I could think about was getting my truck. I was disappointed when it didn't come in on time but I also understand that things happen.

Here is where the story goes from utter disappointment to complete satisfaction.

I spoke with my salesman and told him that I wanted the white letters turned in on the tires so I could have black walls showing. He has this process done and the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) is done and is about to go to the detail department. I looked at the truck and was all smiles until I realized that this truck had the bench seat in it. I specifically wanted the captain's chairs and never even considered the bench seat. I was so deflated because the sales manager was like I don't know what happened.

So as they are trying to find another one for me, (in which I am thinking, damn, another indefinite wait) I went around to the back of the lot and there was my truck with all of the options I wanted. I brought this to their attention and as it turns out, they did the PDI and tire switch on the wrong truck.

They promptly started to do the PDI on mine and switched the wheels from the wrong truck to my truck because this would be easier than having to turn around 2 sets of tires.

Bottom line: I have only gotten to put 70 miles on the truck so far but would have kept going except for the fact that this has been a long and trying day. I am so amped because this is my first brand new vehicle of any type in 15 years.

P.S. Thanks to all for the wonderful information that helped my use my truck to its fullest straight from the showroom floor and at the risk of sounding "unmanly", (in my best Eric Cartman voice).....I love you guys.......

I am considering doing letters in also. Do you have any pics of your truck you could shoot me so I can get a look at it with the letters in? I'd appreciate it... Mark

Wow, what a delivery day story that was, PistonPete! I'm so glad you happened to walk around and find YOUR truck! LOL  That's like the old story of babies getting mixed up in the hospital ward! It's so cool to be able to share our delivery day/purchase stories here on the forum. I was telling the guys at the dealership yesterday about Deepwater's return home in the blizzard...I posted some pics of my Titan on my hunting forum, of course, and the congrats and thumbs up are pouring in over there...this all really adds to the fun!
May you have many wonderful times in your Titan!!! :) Congratulations!!!

What a great analogy Briarman. That is kinda how I felt, although I am sure to a different degree than a parent who got the wrong child would.

Roadgliderider, I am going to post some pics as soon as I get my digital camera back from my friend who borrowed it. I think the white letters look ok when you first get them but if you don't keep up with keeping them clean, they look horrible. Skip Hess has turned the white letters in on his truck with some other mods as well like painting the front bumper. Click link below and then just click on thumbnail pics.
