Exhaust Question

876 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  bestatchess
I have a 2006 Crew Cab, and Im aware that this model, as well as others, have problems with the engines sucking up particles from the catalytic converters. What is the the best solution to fix this? My exhaust is fully stock so all options are available. Im open to all solutions, so those who post, can you refer me to some websites and maybe prices for the setup you run. Thanks up front.

Doug Thorley long tube headers (E-bay $545), Berk B-pipes w/ cats ($375 current 2wd group buy), catback (e.g. JBA approx $350), Uprev ($500 uprev.com)

Some people run w/o any cats, I guess it depends on if you need to pass emissions.

No emissions test where I live. If you run no cats will the check engine light show up? Not a permanent option, but would work temporarily, till I got the money to do a good setup. However, I dont want to have the check engine light on.

Yes, I think it will. Uprev might be able to turn it off. Also, I think some people might use spark plug defoulers to space the rear sensor out of the exhaust gas flow to trick the system.
