I want to install a new exhaust in my 2013 T. It has two separate pipes coming to the stock muffler, and my question is if it would be better to use a "y pipe" into a single Thrush Rattler muffler and then turn down before my axel. Or if it would be better to install a Thrush Rattler on each of the pipes and then turn down the same. Would there be any drawback to installing the 2? Would it be any louder with two? Thank you for any help.

With the VK56, it's generally advised to stick with a 2-in-to-1 setup. There are countless threads on exhaust setups. Check some of them out and see what you like.

The consensus-ish "best" setup though, if you don't feel like pouring over the reading material on the forums here, would be 2.5 inch before the Y pipe in to a single 3 inch muffler, with a single exit. The closer you can get to that the happier you'll make your engine. Duals look great, but are not as proven performance-wise as the setup listed in the previous sentence.

Ypipe is the best and has been proven over and over on dynos and the track. I would stick with a Borla, JBA or 22-24" Magnaflow as these muffler work on these trucks with headers. Most will go with JBA longtubes when the manifolds crack so it's best to prepare for that day. Your on borrowed time at 90k miles so be smart and prepare early.
