NOt sure if this is the right subsection (if not please move mods) but here we go.

I am thinking about putting some exhaust on my truck. I was wondering what would sound better or louder or what difference does each variation make.

lets assume same muffler regardless of configuration.

A) 1 muffler that is 2 in and 2 out
B) 2 mufflers each 1 in and 1 out
c) (just to say we covered it) 2 mufflers each 1 in 2 out with quad tips.

There's a thread in here somewhere called "proven exhaust thread", check it out.
Both banks feeding into one 3 inch muffler seems to be the most common.
