So what does everyone think about aftermarket extended warranties? What would you say the pros and cons would be for a non nissan extended warranty? What are some good prices for full exclusionary warranty either nissan or non nissan? Any help is greatly appreciated, looking to purchase one so I am just looking for some info. Thanks.

Extended warranties: I had it on my Dodge Intrepid, and I paid $1200 for 6 yr. 75,000 miles and I had to use it for 2 electric switches and then around 62,000 miles my timing chain broke on the highway, it paid for everything including rental car. I only had to pay $100 out of the pocket.
Now I only drive 20 miles a day, so I am fine for 5yr. 60K miles Nissan warranty. And probably won't have the same truck after 5yrs anyways. That is the option I weighed when i purchased the truck.
Do a search. I have posted true Nissan cost on the 07's. 08's shouldn't be much more.
I got a quote from warranty direct for 8 years/120K miles including air bags for $1743 on my 08 4X4 LE CC LB. It looks like I will bite on this deal. This is for their "bumper to bumper" exclusionary coverage. I would not recommend it to folks that mod their truck as they will use that as an excuse to deny your warranty. What are your thoughts? Do you have any experience with Warranty Direct and do you think this is a good deal? Any feed back would be appreciated

Read the fine print. I checked on that site and it said that even "adding a hitch" can void your warranty.

Thanks for the reply. I have read the contract and yes it does mention adding the hitch would be an issue though they cover it in other area if it was installed at the factory then not only it would be coverd but the electrical connection and any associted parts are covered. I have done a search on the internet and was not able to find anything bad about them refusing to pay for covered parts.
Good good - I hope it works out for you!
i would be creful with them i called and spoke to a rep and he said to me adding anything that did not come from factory would automatically void the warranty. On everything
yep. that's what I am finding out. What different than what Nissan is doing though. I have read numerous members getting the run around due to mods. That's why I posted the question to see what other members experience have been. I have not been able to find a good deal on the Nissan extended warranty. It does not take much these days to get a bill for $5-$600 for just little odds and ends. My other Nissan trucks were rock solid (84 with 350K miles, 94 with 246K miles). That was not true of my 04 Titan (grant you it was first year production which i will never do again). My 08 seems to be a lot better. I am torn if I should cough up the doe or put the $1700 in a CD for 5 years until the factory warranty runs out then use these funds to fix whatever ails my Titan.

Yeah - I think one is better off extending the warranty under Nissan. It may be more limited but they'll cover you tranny even if you add a billet gas cap.
The difference is if you find a good dealer to work with you they will overlook some stuff . That is why i say get one from a dealer it will pay off in the long run.
