Karl, Do you have any large photos of your canteen truck in the sun and shade? how do you like the color?
I posted some pics in the photo's section back in Dec...one of the first sets of pics I beleive. I love the color and I get tons of compliments on it. If they aren't big enough I can attach them to a post in full format as we didn't have the ability to upload pic's back in Dec.

The finance managers will tell you not to tell anyone what you payed because it is there job to sell those warranty's at full price. I will not rat out my finance manager, was giving advice on how to get your warranty at the best price, have a nice day !!!!!!!!

I negotiated my warranty as the final step in the purchase process. I bought it from the finance manager and really put the squeeze on, his spiff is on the warranty and the bank loan, not the purchase price like a commission sale. You need to roll up the WHOLE deal to your advantage, if you guys pushed the sale price too thin, then you are less likely to work a deal on the warranty. Tough to look at it as a stand alone item. I only financed for 12 months so he had little to work with, they were working a spiff contest that ended 12/31 and I bought my truck on 12/24, so he rolled over on the warranty. I paid most of my truck price in cash so I was in a good position to work the WHOLE deal in my favor. If your TOTAL deal worked out to be a good one, then great. Not realistic to look at pieces and then add it up. Just my 2 cents on this issue.

I NEVER had purchased a service contract, I usually hold my cars/trucks for 4 years and get an itch for a new one. But with this being a new truck, from a new plant and new segment for Nissan I figured it was wise. Now I am really glad I did because this Titan is going to be around for a while. It continues to impress me and I can't wait until aftermarket stuff starts rolling out. The dealers that want you to be a future customer, again and again, will make the right deal. You just need to be aware of how the game is played. They know if your going to work them over and never come back, hell they sell cars for a living, we buy cars every several years.

Karl, just checked and I did not list my e-mail. Don't really want to. Let me know how to contact you with the info., like I said, I should be home this weekend if I get this deal done by then.......thanks
Skip, many thanks man. If you send me a private message I'll provide my fax number. I don't think you are bs'ing anyone and didn't mean to make it sound that way if I did. It just makes it easier if I have something to support my asking price from a recent buyer. However, you're absolutely correct, it's much easier to negotiate as a combined package with the original purchase than as a stand alone item. I do appreciate the offer and there is no rush...whenever you get a chance would be great.

Karl

Give me a break Don..."will not rat out my finance manager". No offense, but that's the most rediculous thing I've ever heard. Boy, it's getting deep in here!!

You bet, the more $ we save our Titan brothers and sisters the better. By the way, your truck looks fantastic!

Ive been quoted identical prices at four dealers, three in Orlando and one in Tampa. Taking info right out of page given to them by Nissan.

Gold preferred 0 deductable:
5/100k $1438
6/100k $1580
7/100k $1796

Gold 0 deductable:
5/100k $1252
6/100k $1346
7/100k $1649

Doesn't mean we can't deal, but I already have my truck and am doing this as an afterthought. Seems decent enough- I'm looking at the 6/100k Gold package with 0 Ded, an extra 36 months of full coverage for about 35 bucks a month (not counting the original 36 months). It really boils down to 3/64k for the price, a little over 20k per year. I'll hit the mileage easy.

No matter how well I think this truck is built, I figure something will break during that time and the coverage will pay for itself, even if just an A/C or O2 sensor problem. My Maxima blew two coils at about 40k, costing about $800 (out of my shallow pockets). O2 sensors (and the manifold) ended up costing nearly $650.

Skip,
Could you please email a copy of that contract to me at [email protected]? I'm about to negotiate the service contract and would like to get it at cost or close. Also, in your email, let me know if you would mind me putting it in the FAQ. I bet this is a question that comes up frequently. If you don't mind it posted on the FAQ, make sure and block out all of your personal info. Don't worry, I'll only post it on the FAQ if you agree!

Consider your driving habits...

I normally put 18K miles on my vehicle every year...

I'm sure the Titan will get more just because of JOYRIDING..

so I'll easily have 75K in 4 years - which means the "extended" warranty is very little extend for alot of money.

Manufacturers should stand behind their products without asking for ransom!

I'm sure I should know this (I still haven't had time to read all my manuals and stuff--glad my sales guy is cool) but how long do I have to buy the extended warranty? My truck is almost 2 weeks old and has 1300 miles on it.

Thanks for any info.

Skip/Don, Better yet...can you guys tell me who your finance rep's were and your individual dealerships and I'm sure they will let me purchase the maint contract with a credit card over the phone (it shouldn't matter if it's out of state or not).

I agree with you. I want to get the extended contract but the dealers here in Orlando are quoting about $2500 (6/100k gold) and said by Florida law they can't deal. I will need to go outside state for better rate also. Send me an email at [email protected] when you get any info.

Thanks again for wading through all the smoke and mirrors.

Good question. When I bought one for my Toyota, their window was the 3 year/36K mile bumper-to-bumper period.....as long as that hadn't expired, then you could purchase the Toyota Extended Warranty. I wonder if this is the same for Nissan's?
