[2nd II None]

Hi all,
My factory cd player worked fine for the first year I've owned the truck, but now it is not working at all. If I press the "cd mode", all it does is beep a few times and no response. AM/FM both work fine, but now my cd's are being held hostage from within! Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

If you still have the warantee on the truck bring it back. If not it sounds like your CD player died. Does it give you an error code on the screen?

Thought I read where some were removing all power to the HU then reenergizing it and the problem cleared.

Removing power has worked for some. I took the whole unit out of the truck for over a day which would be identical to removing power to the truck. It still did not give me back my discs. So I took it apart to see if I could get my discs back (because I sure as hell did not want to leave the truck with the dealership for half a day just for them to replace the radio).

Long story short: I wound up taking it to the dealership. The guys in Buena Park, CA took care of me. When I first brought it in, they told me to bring it back next morning so that they could look at it closer. I took it back next morning, and they told me it'd be three to four hours! Just to confirm my failure! I told them that'd be unacceptable and that I could show them it's faulty right then and there and that I gauranteed them they'd replace it. Hehe, so he agreed. They ordered a new one for me and one week later, they called me up to come in. They had it installed in 2 hours.

Probably a stuck or warp disc that cause the problem in the first place. Did they tell you what happen?
