[BAD 24/7]

I've tried using a few products to bring my wiper cowl, running board plastic, and bumper trim around my truck back to life. The best product that I saw a difference was Mother's Back-to-Black. Have any of you out there know of anything better to restore the plastic back to new?

I have had good luck with Adam's VRT, and many others I'm sure can attest to this as well. I use it on every piece of black plastic on the truck and it seems to last quite well.

I saw someone post a long time ago mop and glow works well and is durable.

VRT is all you need to know!!! Amazing stuff!!!

BLACK WOW is better than all!!! Add black wow a couple of times, than you can add the rest of the cheaper products.

BLACK WOW!!! lasts so much longer!!! lasts about 5 truck washes for me... hand wash, not pressure washing and not going through the car wash. I added Mothers back to black on my rear bumper trim and that faded after the first wash.

But, if you want to buy at the auto parts store, than Mothers Back to Black works the best.

If you dont want to buy any Adam's VRT find something that does have UV Protectant ( VRT has a SPF of like 40 or 50 ) That will help you out in the long run

ive already tried both products... ADAMS does have good products...

for me, its:

1. Black Wow
2. Adam's VRT
3. Mothers Back to Black

Mothers is easier to get..

I have some VRT (its what I use) and have tried the Black WOW. The Black wow lasts much longer, but the VRT gets the job done too. I've found the VRT has a real hard time lasting more than a day on my bedrail caps, but lasts a few days longer on my wiper cowl. I like the VRT on the tires the most. Actually, I just discovered last week, that i think I like the Adam's In and Out spray a lot more on the Bed-rails, and it works wonders in the engine bay LOL

Use a little cleaner mixed 50/50 on a rag and wipe.....then carefully apply a dressing and wipe dry

Done!

I'm not saying to not use the Black Wow or Mothers.. go ahead and use them if you like it. But I recommend using something with UV Protection afterwards.

That is the only you'll save the plastic in the long run

A few of us here have just pulled those off, sanded them, cleaned them and painted them with a pianted them. They look brand new again

How exactly do you pull them off? I been trying.

There is a little bolt oyu have to remove. Send Gary748 a PM....I've sent a couple poeple to him already. He is the one who did mine with me, I forget what all he did. I know that little screw had to be taken out, then you have to pull thme off towards the back of the truck. He had a little plastic piece he was using to pry it up while I pulled back on it. Some just slid off easily, some are on there pretty good....Shoot him a PM and he will let you know exactly how to do it and where that screw is

On the wiper cowl, I havent had a chance to try it yet but the guy I had come over and buff some scratches out said that the secret was a hair dryer on hot. Like I said I havent tried it yet but this guy did an AWESOME job on the truck and I will prolly try the hair dryer in the next day or two if you want to wait on an update, or give it a go yourself.

Use tire cleaner , foam works best on the black plastic dont get it on the paint though. Best to spray product on towel then rub it into the plastic . This method has work best for me.

its impossible man ive used everything i could find my self and wiped like you and ect........even if it drys when you go over a little bit of water it will splatter all over eeerrrr i hated........
