so monday i will begin glassing my sub box for my two 12's under my back seat.

i am taking the carpet off the box and putting glass on instead, then paint it black and have a tattoo artist friend of mine airbrush it :gunz:

anyone have any tips on installing fiberglass because mine will be straight off the internet lol

thanks in advance

ps i will take lots of pics

So really you just need to add body filler and do some sanding. Good luck removing the carpet... James would rebuild an enclosure before he re-carpeted one.

If you take a thick plastic spray or use a cup and pait brush and brush acetone in the carpet lightly . you will find it comes off much easier. And yes I would rather rebuild an enclosure than recarpet it have done it several times. but i glue the crap out every single enclosure.

sand the box and then spay it with polyester filler. no glas needed unles you want to change the shape

www.selectproducts.com will have everything you need for this.

It's not that bad. Just sucks when you have to do it in the middle of an install.

It would suck on one of your enclosures because of the glue you use but on average it isn't too bad.

so as of today the carpet is off of the box, but the glue they used is really thick in some places wich makes it really hard to get the little carpet pieces off. i spent 3 hours going at it with 8 sheets of 40 grit to almost no effect. is there a chemical i could use that would break the glue off? a friend recomended a citrus based cleaner..

also is it possible to make a custom enclosure to fit behind the back seat to house 2 or 3 subs (10's) and 2 amps.. one for the two 12's under my back seat, and one for the 10's?

hmm.. it seems like there is room, ill look into it.

Not enough room in a King Cab if you want a functional rear seat. There is just over 2 inches at the deepest point when the seat is latched in the upright position.
