I have a lot of mods on my Titan so it's hard to tell which ones are giving me the most MPG gain. If I drive 65 MPH in the summer I can get 22.4 MPG. In no particular order here are the top 5 things I think help:

1. AMSoil 0w-30 synthetic oil in the engine
2. AMSoil in the differentials and transfer case. I also have AMSoil in the transmission but I was getting 22.4 MPG before I switched to that.
3. Topper/Cap - you'll find lots of information that says a topper doesn't help, I say it does.
4. OEM tires and wheels - keep the weight down. LT tires (Toyo Open Country, OEM size) are really heavy and drastically affect my MPG.
5. 85 octane fuel - Conoco or Shell, both have done well for me

Great thats what I thought to but I have questions regarding the cats. I have only had my truck for 4 days now so I am not sure what the cat situation is under the truck but removing the cats, does that give you any CEL's or error codes and will the truck still pass emmisions also are there any sensors in the rear cats and does the 2004 even have rear cats????
2004 4x4 has rear cats, 4x2 doesn't. Elimination of the cats will - according to an expert here in Colorado that I talked to - cause you to fail emissions. I don't understand how that would be the case if a 4x2 with 2 cats can pass emissions. I'm still scratching my head on that one.

Instead of gutting the rear cats, consider replacing them with high performance cats like you can get from Berk Technologies. I noticed a difference when I did that.

aggree on the wheels. the wider i got, the worst my mpg got. but i love having 12" wide tires. lol. not to mention all of the other mods i did. Superchips tuner did help alittle on gas, alot on HP.
Thanks for the reminder. I should have put a 6th item on my list:

6. Uprev tuned - I get better gas mileage (especially around town) in my performance map versus the stock map.

Nobody should confuse me with an expert on exhaust setups, but your 3" Y (exit side) into 2.5" straight sounds a bit strange to me. Why would you step down the diameter? For what it's worth, the '07+ OEM exhaust is 2.25" dual to the muffler and then 3" out from the muffler. I don't know if that gives you any guidance or not. Conventional wisdom for '07+ is that the biggest bang for the buck is to simply replace the OEM muffler and keep the existing tubing.

Copied from a post by BMF'n_Titan (the search feature is your friend):
Using the Cruise Control Buttons...
-Hold the set/coast toggle down
-Press "Cancel" once for map 1, twice for map 2, etc...
-Then release the set/coast toggle.
-When you release the toggle, the cruise "SET" light on the dash will blink once for map 1, twice for map 2, etc...

Should work exactly as above......the 2004 Titan is only good for 3 maps the rest can hold 5

Well, by default you should be in your stock map. I think I had the same (letdown) experience but it improved. I am disappointed that my WOT restriction is still in place on my performance tune.

Shipwrech, let me know if you get WOT from 0 MPH. Mine is still set at 12 MPH even though I asked for it to be completely removed.

I am looking into headers for my truck, any suggestions please?
Stillen or Doug Thorley. There are a lot of people unhappy with Stillen overall. Some folks are unhappy with DT due to rust showing up on headers that they thought would not rust. But I think the general concensus is that there is no reason to complain about the performance of the DT headers.
