First 3 things I need for new Titan to increase HP and Gas Mileage?

36662 Views 99 Replies 27 Participants Last post by  JauntyBishop
I am brand new to the world of Titans (or any V8 truck for that matter) and I have to say I am, for the first time ever, truly proud of my vehicle! I feel like an F-ing man!!!

I am looking for the first 3 things I should do to it to not only increase horsepower but also hopefully help with fuel economy as well?

I do currently have a K&N air filter but it's not a cold air intake, and also a Flowmaster 40 series exhaust.

That does look pretty cool but $500??? Is it really worth the "cha-ching?
Worth every penny and everyone who has it will let you know that. Many switch over from Bully Dogs and Superchips to Up Rev and say that there sint even a comparison. I think there are a few Up Rev packages being sold on here in the for sale section. Look it up.
I read up on this UpRev and man that looks awesome... Now I just need to pull $500 outa my a$$ or someone elses a$$ for that matter.... lol
MilenkoGT - That's quite an exhuast system! Do you have video of your truck so we can hear what is sounds like?
Thought you'd never ask lol, I sure do!

Here is a video with everything in my signature and picture I posted previously, minus the apexi resonators.

X2 on getting Up/Rev!!! Bully Dog is not available for '04's... You might as well do it right the first time!

I myself have Osiris, which not only give you the ability to monitor all the parameters of your engine & data log, it allows you to upload new ROM files into your T's ECU. So, you are able to re-tune your truck to get the most performance out of your mods! Re-tuning is done solely by Up/Rev themselves, through emails (etunes). This way you don't have any worries about blowing up your engine! Happy Modding!!! :)

I need to buy the $500 OSIRIS setup, I have the UPREV Pro-Tune which is basically an ECU reflash/dyno tune. But I still got the different maps, 87, 93 performance etc....

I've been using the 93 performance tune ever since...

I'm wondering how my truck would run if say I installed JWT CS2 cams and ran them on my current tune. Would the truck/tune be fine to log some E-Tunes, or would I need to have the cams installed at Relentless where there is a dyno at their dealership/facility?

This has been a concern for me. I'm thinking my current Uprev Pro-tune should be fine to handle the new JWT CS2 cams...

What do you guys think?
Just ordered my UpRev 5 minutes ago. (Evil Laugh)

What to expect now? What will show up????

Congrats!!! Your gong to love it!

Since you have an '04 you will get to choose 3 maps.

Did you fill out the order form that asks you what details you want for each map?

Yea I did but I wasnt sure what to put so map 1 I made 91 oct, rev lim at 6200 RPM and speed limiter at 160 MPH and idle speed at 750 RPM

Map 2 was Valet with rev limiter at 2500RPM and speed limiter at 60 MPH

Map 3 was stock

I will try that out for now.

My 2 friends that still live her in boulder CO just challanged me to a race. (-:
When I still had the 02 tundra they asked too but I didnt want to now that I have the titan I am sure I will pull ahead of both 2007 F150 and 2002 Chevy 2500. The ford has intake and exhaust and the chevy has intake exhaust and edge chip I think. I rode in the diesel and I am sure even with the tundra it would have been very close, The titan on the other hand might just embaris him.... :)

I will have to race him again after I get my UpRev.

The Ford could have a rocket ship motor and you would still be able to beat it even if you were stock. So the chevy is a diesel? Post up some vids on the kill stories section and let us know what happens. With intake exhasut and Up Rev you should do really good. Launch in 4wd and destroy them off the line just dont turn your wheels with it engaged
Yea I did but I wasnt sure what to put
As long as you had them remove the TQ management in your Map1, so you get wide open throttle from a dead stop your good to go! Have fun with it! :)

Ok Guys, so I just flashed my ECU with one of the 2 maps they sent me. map 1 was a "Back to stock" and map 2, I assume was my custom map. It had my name in the title as suppose to "Back to stock"

As of now i am a little dissapointed. I cannot feel any differance at all and the WOT restriction is still there. Everyone keeps talking about maps 1 2 and 3 and how doe I swith between them???

Am I missing something??? Where do i go from here? Do I need to log some data for a while and send it to UpRev for them to tweak before I will see a differance????
Copied from a post by BMF'n_Titan (the search feature is your friend):
Using the Cruise Control Buttons...
-Hold the set/coast toggle down
-Press "Cancel" once for map 1, twice for map 2, etc...
-Then release the set/coast toggle.
-When you release the toggle, the cruise "SET" light on the dash will blink once for map 1, twice for map 2, etc...

Should work exactly as above......the 2004 Titan is only good for 3 maps the rest can hold 5

yea after i posted this I found it. I am worried I just threw $500 in the water. No power gain sofar. ill log some data and see what is to do.
Well, by default you should be in your stock map. I think I had the same (letdown) experience but it improved. I am disappointed that my WOT restriction is still in place on my performance tune.
my WOT is still there with my superchips, so i understand. called them up, and they just sent me a program that shows that it is enabled, instead of of a disable option. They say "some Titans don't have WOT restrictions". even though mine says its enabled, and its pretty obvious when I hit the gas.
