My wife was sayig the same thing about the center console. I think that since the DVD player is in there, it would make more sense for the passenger to be able to manage the process of changing the DVD while the driver does the driving. It is difficult for her to reach into the space without taking off her seatbelt and leaning over the console to reach in.

Yes, the tailgate is heavy. I think it could have been couterbalanced, but expect that to be something handled in future models.

If you are worried about damaging the fan blade in the lower grill, buy a Billet Grill

Rear seat passengers cannot reach the latch to open the console from their seats. How are they going to change the DVD?
