Hi all, im new to the fourm here and am lookin at gettin me a Titan. Im a Diesel Mechanic by tradeand own a 93 dodge cummins with an extensive list of mods. I just recently drove an 05 extended cab Titan (not four door) and really like the ride and it has decent power for only having a CAI. I dont have alotta expierence modding gas rigs, especially ones with a computer controlled fueling system. I was wondering (and yes i have used the search function) what it takes to turbocharge (not supercharge) a computer controlled gasoline engine.

As far as i can tell, since a diesel is basically a big air pump that you add fuel into, a gas engine must be a fuel pump you add air to correct? So being that, wouldnt i need to put larger injectors, and maybe a chip to raise rpms and also the amount of fuel injected? Also, i bieleve i would need heavier valve springs (possibly valves?) and of course head studs to accomidate the higher cylinder pressure.

I plan on using an H1C. (one step smaller then an hx35). Also what kinna boost numbers would i be showing (plan on installing egt and boost gauge.)

Thanks in advance

There is some extensive transmission work that would need to be done if you plan on turbocharging a Titan. The stock tranny doesn't like it. There are several people on here that do complete exhaust, CAI, and computer tune (UpRev) without having to worry about the tranny too much. The next step is cams. If you're getting an 05, then you would need to upgrade you intake manifold to a 07 or newer as well. There's a guy on here (Toomnymods) that has done a turbo but went through about 3 tranny's before getting it right. Hit him up for some advice.
