Ford Guys Hate My Guts

Just got my Titan 2 weeks ago and am finding out that the Ford (also to a lesser extent GMC & Dodge) guys are really not happy that I bought a "Jap" truck. This is my first new vehicle in 17 years and this response was not anticipated as a lot of these guys run Yamaha outboards on their boats. I might have to buy a gun in case they get really hostile. :gunz: I try to tell them it's mostly made in Mississippi but they don't buy it!

Anybody else have any similar experiences of this sort?

Ask them to see if they can find out where exactly in the US their trucks are assembled. They will be suprised to know that they are probably made in either Mexico or Canada.

"misery loves company" If these guys loved their tucks they would not care to bother you.

GM's Duramax is an Isuzu, Daimler provides Common Rail diesels to Chrysler, and half of Ford is developed at Mazda. Also the Harley-Davidson V-Rod is Porche engineered.

Ask them to show you their cellphones and see if it's a Motorola.

All they need to know is that is built in the USA by Americans!

My friend who's a lifelong Chevy fan couldn't believe that I bought a foreign truck. Once I reminded him that he sold his Corvette for a BMX X5 4.6, he shut up.

Haven't gotten much trouble from the Chevys/GMs, the Fords like to stare, but the "real" bada$$es around here (I guess) are the Dodges. Always wanting to race it a little. Although some of them were so beat up that I told my girlfriend that maybe they are just revving there engines at the light to make sure they don't die on them before the get moving again.

ignorant hypocrite cowards

Most of them folks are ignorant hypocrite cowards, that harass in packs.

Forgetaboutit, but maybe stoke your Springfield Mil-Spec 1911-A1 (or your favorate .45ACP "iron" like a Glock21, made in Georgia by the Austrian firm) with a full clip of 230 grain Remington Golden Sabres, just because one should "Trust in God" but not in them fellow humans. a good sized locking folding knife (that opens one-handed) is handy: more often legal and doesn't run out of ammo. heh heh i'm kidding..really...not
:jester:

Relax. smile, be happy and drive your cool Titan, but "be prepared" (a phrase i leaned in my Boy scout days)

cheers,
Chris

and keep on rocking in the Free World: USA.

now, occasionally i do get "juvenile" and have to pass up a ford, gm or a dodge (aint that crysler company owned by germans, daimer?) truck or suv (when my wife isn't a passenger - she says i drive like "Mad Max" -- now, i consider that as a compliment).

Funny you should mention the Glock! I've been thinking about getting one (not really 'cause of the truck) primarily for home protection and to take on the boat. I hear they really hold up to the elements. :gunz:

Yeah I get the "What Kind of Rice do you run in that thing?" All the time at work. So one day last week I brought in some rice and sprinkled on the ground near my exhaust and said "guess I got a leak". Scooped it up and said You wanna race? They all have F150's

its amazing the ignorance of big 3 owners, calling us rice burners and all. they better go home and check their TV's, stereo systems, cell phones and what not and then let us know the rice burners are. pitiful.

ESPECIALLY rich coming from the owners of the Krautwagons (Dodge), since they are a WHOLLY owned subsidiary of the DaimlerChrysler Corp of Stuttgard, GERMANY.

My dad is a WWII vet of the Pacific theatre and his is the ONLY opinion on this subject that matters to me and he thinks the Titan is one damn nice truck. :ninja:

Actually the Glocks here in America are made in Smyrna, Georgia, USA. They still say Austria on the slide, but they weren't made there.
this is true, and untill just a couple of years ago Smith And Wesson was owned by the british, it is now back in American hands thank goodness.

My Dad spent two years POW in Italy and one year POW in Germany and the only car he wanted to own was a Mercedes-Benz. He taught me to respect all nations and how to forgive. The first car he helped me buy was an Alfa-Romeo SUD. Man, I loved that car. I loved my Dad, too.

Quality is all that matters. The big three and their followers still have a lot to learn.

The better question, and the one I find most alarming; Plucky, did I see that you own a Honda Element? Holy Wells Fargo Bank Trucks, Batman, and it is AWD!

I've got my eye on you Fawker. I'm taking you down Fawker, down to China Town.

Yes and the engine is built in Tennesee. How many Fords are built in Mexico? Someone said over 60% are built in Canada. OUCH. Talk about an Un-American truck. The Canucks are more liberal than John Kerry!
