I saw a commercial for the Ford F-150 about the leaf spring bolts. They are claiming to have a better bolt because it "looks" bigger so it must be stronger. I paused it and I'm no expert but doesn't it look like the Titan has the only Grade 8 Bolt there. If it was me, i'd say the Titan bolt would be stronger. I may be wrong but what do you guys think?

Thats so much bull:cowtongue , It's an advertising technique, they are showing Nissan's bolt, not the Titan's bolt, just like they are showing Dodge's bolt and not the Ram's bolt; this means that those other bolts are probably Frontier, dackota, and all the midsized truck bolts, the only specified bolt is the Ford's. So don't worry this only means that the Titan's bolt will kick the f-150's a** if the Frontier's bolt is that good:gunz:

although i didn't take into account that my computer does not have sound so they may specify, besides if thats all fords got to brag about, then just let them have there oversized bolt and the titan can have there 32 intake valves, 5.6 liters of displacement, 317 hp and 380 lb of torque!

i find that commercial so pointless they probably do use crappy bolts, WOW they are bigger holy sh!t dosent mean they are better. every time i see that commercial i hate ford trucks more and more! they rave over a bigger bolt that is probably weaker then a straw.

also their older commercials when they lift the F-150 off the ground with the bed bolt, so stupid. why do you need a bolt that "strong" to hold the bed on the frame. there is no shear force with the bed, all the bed does is hold stuff.
with 1,000 lbs in the bed it would stay there on the frame on its own with out bolts. i dont suggest doing this lol just saying it to make a point.

The Titan's bolts are not the problem. The problem is the anemic spring shackle. I don't know if the 08's are improved, but the earlier ones are rolled sheet metal that are not welded across the seam, and are prone to unrolling.

Off topic I know, but... I went to Memphis last weekend and passed the Nissan plant in Canton MS. There was a brand new f-150 fx4 broke down on the side of the interstate directly in front if the plant. I wish I had a camera:rollingsm You could see the Nissan sign in the background.

Bigger bolts, big deal. Now if they could only build a vehicle that wouldn't spontaniously combust they would be on the right track.:flame: :flame:

actually, we only have 16 intake valves, but we do have 16 exhaust valves too.

It's not about the size of the bolts it's about the size of the trucks nuts / balls.

Besides Nissan has a bigger name, 6 letters where as Ford only has 4 letters, Who is nuts now?

Ford is only suffering from bolt envy.
