it's from Australia, but still applies. It has been said that a bullbar can interfere with your airbags and stuff. This article addresses some of this stuff.

lol its basically saying that its doing its job.
I have been meaning to ask this for a long time now, but what is the point of a bull bar anyway? Protection for the radiator but exposing the rest of the front end? I understand the purpose of a brush guard, but the bull bar seems like an expensive accessory for mounting lights. Other than cosmetics, I really don't see the value of this accessory.
I was disappointed that they didn't list the references. I hate when someone quotes research w/o allowing me to check the data in the research and the conclusions. Commonly- the "facts" are not so factual.

As mentioned above, it appears the article is upset that the bars are doing their job!

I agree with you that they don't protect the enter front end, but some of the bull bars look good though.

The last one I had was invaluable in the woods. I could push down a scrub oak w/o fear or body damage. Could push open bump gates (a texas cattle ranch thing), etc.,etc.
I thought it was interesting in the fact that they claim that if a bullbar is designed correctly (and installed correctly for that matter) that it shouldn't have an effect on the deployment of airbags (which was a major concern of mine).

I know that ARB makes their bull bars compatible with the airbag deployment system in vehicles.

"With an air bag equipped 4x4 it is essential that the vehicle's crush rate and air bag triggering is not altered when a bull bar is installed. To ensure compatibility, ARB assesses each vehicle's frontal crush characteristics and replicates the crush rate into the design of each air bag compatible bull bar and its mounting system. This method enables engineers to achieve maximum possible vehicle and passenger protection without affecting the crash pulse. ARB has invested heavily in vehicle crash barrier tests to validate the performance and compliance of its air bag compatible bull bars, and as a consequence, our bars offer a far greater level of protection than most standard brush guards and grille guards."

Now if they only made bumper for the Titan....someday hopefully...someday...
