He is good about replying. I've talked to him many times. Really nice guy too!

I looked at some internal pics of its big brother and I dont see ZED AUDIO anywhere on the board so I dont think its his.
its about 2 maybe 3 years old but its a really good amp to push 2 10 inch subs:boxing: the new planet audio amps are black all over. their circuit board is similar to memphis amps.

We actually hooked it up to 2 Kicker l5 12s sealed and kicked the crap out of them.
looks like a planet big bang series amp. cant be 2 years old. i think the 06' had the chrome heat sink. new ones are black, just as kha stated. i could be wrong. there are a few of em on ebay.

Hey bro these are not my words . they are his. He reminds me of lizardking . I like him already.

I actually thought the amp was pretty ballse and it heavy as crap to be so small. It says handcrafted in the usa right on it. So no clue

You should talk to him a bit James... he is pretty funny. You would like him he is so out there when it comes to the details. Stephen has 40+ years of experience building amplifiers. Read about the history here.

I'd call him out about the Korea vs USA thing because that is interesting. Maybe the heatsink was made in the USA.... ha ha

It is probably an fine amp but its not up to Stephens expectations so to him its junk!

I bet he will not have answer . I have met many people like him in the last 16 years of audio career. Not saying he is wrong or right. But nobody can change his opinion on things and there is no best amp for every situation. I would bet that will be his answer.

I have to say this little planet ausio is impressive as far as just pure output . And its tiny.
There is no "best amp" its whats best for your application.

Do you want best bang for the buck amp buy a Sundown.

Do you want underated high current amps go with the old ZED stuff.

Do you want extremely complex go with an ARC SE series.

Do you want beautiful amps, check out the TRU copper series, BRAX, Sinfoni, etc.

Do you want neon lights go with Jensen!!!

If I asked him what the best amp is he'd probably tell me his current series that he designs and they build here in USA

wow... amps are rated by volts and watts and all kinds of other things.... the best amp for me is McIntosh .005% thd and all of the name brands come out to .005 thd. THE LESS DISTORTION THE BETTER THE QUALITY!!!!! jl and mcintosh are best for me.

I like Milbert Tube amps for components and sub amp anything efficient and built well. why tubes you ask. Because they sound the most natural. Are they the most practical . No but they sound the best and thats a fact.

Traditinal brands i like. Adcom is my first choice but they do not make car audio amps any longer. Sundown, arc ,audison , ZApco , Old soundstream calss a 6.0 s. Just to name a few. The old a/d/s 8 channels are sweet as well. Also macintosh amps are built really well. I use there home amps on ML speakers.

This debate could go on and on... There are a ton of really high end amps out there. All of them have advantages and disadvantages thats why there isnt a " best amp"

Speaking of tubes James. ZED Audio has built a lot of tube amps too, the Planet Audio tube amps were built by him.

if this name takes off. i get half.

oh yeah, this thread is about as american as it gets. free to gripe and whine over a circuit board, with a metal heat sink covering it. however, im sure ill chime in soon. nobody has pi**ed me off enough regarding the planet stuff yet. politics anyone?
