Okay so to start off I own a 2010 Titan SE, with a 6" fabtech lift. I have gone through 3 driver side cv axels because the keep breaking in 4wd. Well this last time I was on a gravel road in 4 high.. came to a stop sign and got on the gas... All I hear is BOOM! The axel is broke, but this time it took a chunk of differential housing with it. Of course all the gear oil leaked out and I assume I'm going to have the whole front diff replaced. My question is: has anyone else had these axel/diff issues? What might cause this? How much is this going to cost me to fix?! And is it just going to happen again?

Not sure about the front... I just replaced the back and put about $1500 in parts into it. I did the labor myself.

My 04 4x4 has had to have the CV axle replaced once because I messed it up changing out a wheel bearing. The truck has been solid as a rock for me (just shy of 200k miles) Then again - when I'm in 4 wheel drive I'm not getting on the gas.

I found a front diff for $680 shipped, with 69k on it. Instead of paying a shop $500 in labor, I'm going to talk to a buddy and see if he'll help me throw it on. No more hot rodding it in 4wd after that spendy fix
