I have a '12 Titan that the front diff is leaking around the seals. I noticed a small leak a while back while changing the oil. Didn't think much of it and put it off to take care of later. I began noticing a little growl in the front end when turning sharp the other day. I peaked under the truck for just a second and noticed the diff is pretty wet with oil now.
I haven't had a chance to crawl under there yet and really investigate. I bought the Titan as certified used, with a 100K mile drivetrain warranty. I have about 67K now. According to the booklet they gave me for the certified warranty it should be covered.
Has anyone had any dealings with the Nissan certified warranty thing? Am I going to have to jump through hoops or is the warranty pretty easy to use, I also have a 1.5" leveling kit up front. Are they going to try to claim that caused the leak and subsequent diff growling? Just trying to get an idea what I'm up against before I contact the dealer. Thanks for any info.

edit to add:
Just crawled under the truck and it's the rear seal that's leaking and not the output seals, so i wouldn't think they could claim the leveling kit caused any issues, but what do I know?

A lot of your treatment will depend on the dealer. Find one you trust.

Keep in mind the dealer will get paid for doing any warranty related repairs... they should want to help you... it will make them money to do so.

Don't bother with Nissan Customer Service... you will be gravely disappointed with their response.

Mine was replaced under the original warranty at 35k miles, dealership didn't question my spacer/Bilstein lift one bit. All depends on who your dealing with, but ultimately as BWV says, dealership will be paid by the warranty company or Nissan
