I just did this a week ago, from what I got from reading everything:

80w90 Front

75w140 Rear

Or you can do 75w140 in both, which is the route I went.

The 140 is just a thicker oil, which isn't necessary for the front since it is not getting as much strain as the rear.

Paskell, you may want to run the lighter gear oil in the front as recommended, since you're in BC. Low temp viscosity will be higher than recommended. It may cut gas mileage a bit, too, since the front is always spinning.

Royal Purple is good stuff. I run Red Line in mine (seems favored by BMW CCA tech advisors - I've been a long time member), and it's about the same price, or just a bit cheaper than Royal Purple from a quick look.

Cheers!

Not too much. FWIW, Red Line's application guide lists 75W-90 for the front diff. With a full synthetic, you will have good shear strength. Cheers!

I run 75w-140 in both. Have for over 6 years since my first front diff crapped out on me in 2010.

Went pretty smooth today. Rear diff fill plug was pretty tight though. Snapped a wratchet had to used a breaker bar. Filling the front diff is a pain. As I could not find a pump.. and my front pinion seal is for sure leaking..

Good point^^^. I use Red Line Synthetic D4 ATF in the transfer case - cross references to NissanMatic D, J & K. While I'm thinking about it, Red Line cross references their D6 ATF to NissanMatic S. Not sure if RoyalPurple cross references for transfer case, Paskell.
