So my dad took his 07 in because of road noise that we have been hearing in the front end. Its strong enough to vibrate the floorboard. They checked it out and said that the front tires were choppy on the inside.
We looked at it and they were right so I said there must be an alignment problem from the factory. The service guy says oh "No", the tires just need rotated and that Nissan Titans are bad about chewing up the insides of the tires. I said well I have 12K on mine and no problems with any front end noise or uneven tire wear that I have seen. He didn't have anything to say about that he just told my dad that he needed to have the tires rotated and the service manager chimed in as well.
Also, he has a rear end noise that sounds like metal on metal when he turns slowly like through a parking lot. I am thinking its a rear end problem as you can see in the video I took with my phone below, the sound is slower than the wheels are turning. What do you guys think?
No lift kit on either truck. No mods on either except exhaust. Haven't checked for the plug. I didn't know there was a TSB on it. I couldn't see this as being a coincidence if both of our trucks are now doing it. His is dramatically worse than mine but he has 15k more miles than me.
I took mine and and they checked it out. They couldn't get it to make the sound they said. They said they tightened every bolt on the rear end, checked the brakes, and lubricated parts of the leaf spring. They also adjusted my exhaust tips as they were rubbing on the bed. The service manager said that his tech thinks it may be the rear rotors are slightly warped and that when cold they make some noise. I've had warped rotors on other vehicles that never made a loud noise like this unless it was grinding because there was no pad left. This is not the case. Every morning I pull out of my driveway it makes this sound but once I've driven it for a little while its gone. The service manager is a good guy so I don't want to be a butt about it but he has to hear it eventually.
I can't believe no one else has had this problem yet. Maybe its an 07 thing and we will see more instances soon.
Awesome, my dad is checking out the axle thing on his and I will be checking for it on mine as well. He already had new tires put on because he got a good deal on an exact replacement. He is going to have the alignment checked.
