Has any one had any problems with Parking Garages, The Titan SE 4x4 with 18" wheels looks like it might be.

I think the numbers work out to be 6' 5" for the titan and I have to park in a 6' 7" garage. Would you do it? :idhit:

Any comments would be appreciated.

Just remember some electric garage doors have a bracket that swings down even further when the door is open. Make sure you measure it with the door open. The manual door handle that hangs from my garage door is the only thing that hits my Titans roof, but the Titan is longer than my garage, so it's only been in there once during a hail storm. If the measurements do work, you probably would want someone to guide you in, in case something unforeseeable happens.

EDIT: This reply was to the original unedited post that stated garage, not parking garage. Hence my now somewhat retarded reply to a post about parking garages. Just wanted to let you know I'm not as dumb as I may sound. I'll leave my original reply, as it still applies to other situations.

Like Sammy mentioned be aware of your surroundings and the actual height of your Titan. I park in a lot of parking garages due to my job and be careful because although they have a posted height limit sometimes they have signage or plumbing, lights, etc. that is below that. You should see the damage that can occur when you hit one of those things. It never happenned to me but I witnessed several others with big trucks. Some even had to flatten their tires to get out because they got wedged. Not to mention you most likely will be held responsible for damages to the parking garage.

There are a few parking garages around me that advertise a height of 7 feet but they put that bar in the entrance at about 6.5 feet. No way I can get in there. I wouldn't chance it if you only have 2 inches to clear it. You may hit a rise inside and take out the roof.

I have the KC 4x4 w/ the Off-Road package. It sits pretty tall - according to Nissan, about 6' 5" or so.

I pulled into a parking garage downtown and read the sign that said Maximum Clearance 6' 6". Luckily the entrance area had 8 feet of clearance. I parked in a one-hour spot, turned around and left.

Another garage I had to pull into was 6' 8" max. clearance. Driving through the garage was a major arse-puckering experience. On my way out, I saw someone who got their conversion van wedged in there in a major way. They had about 10 guys hanging off the van, trying to get it backed out of the garage.

Next time I go downtown, I'm taking my wife's new Maxima.

I've squeezed my LE 4x4 CC into a few parking garages. The lowest I went was 6' 5", scared the crap out of me. The radio antena is slightly taller than the roof, so every now and then it hits a low spot in the garage and makes you real nervous. I am fairly comfortable with anything 6' 6" and up, just take it slow.

One thing to keep in mind is that the length of the truck and the angle of the ramp makes a big difference in the height of your truck when it's half up the ramp.

Can you see the antena hit while driving?

Drivers who use garages need some type of temporary mast for the front, put it on before entering a garage. Something that clips on, fits under the back seat.

Always think twice before handing your keys to a valet. I was in a garage downtown used by valets, the walls were padded, scratched, and messed up, looked like bumper cars. I had a small car and was puckered.

Any body get into a garage that had a lower max clearance?
