Nissan makes the best truck hands down...imo. If they kill the titan I honestly dont know what other truck I would buy. The only thing that nissan should do is advertise more! I have seen only a handful of nissan titan commercials in the past few months. Where as toyota has advertised the hell out of the new tundra and it seems to be working pretty good. Killing the titan would be a very stupid move on nissan's part. Does this mean no diesel?

Epic failure! I have not been this happy over buying a truck in years. Why can't they (Nissan) sell more of these? if I know but this is one of the best trucks I have ever owned. Hell sometimes I just leave the radio off just to listen to the sweet sound of that engine under the hood.

The interior kicks the crap out of the 2007 F150 that I just got out of and in fact I don't even know why I bring that truck into this discussion. That XLT has NOTHING on this truck. That 5.4 motor ran every bit like the dog that it was. I really can not think of one thing that my F150 did better then my Titan does.

"Producing a pickup profitably is clearly on Ghosn's mind, and considering last Friday's rumor that Nissan is in talks with Chrysler on a possible collaboration, a Dodge Ram-based Titan that's cheaper to produce than the current truck is definitely a possibility going forward."

Yea, I really want to buy a truck called a "ram-tit"

If that is the case then I'm glad that I bought an all NISSAN Titan then and not some bastardized half bred Dodge/Nissan combo. If I wanted to buy a lower quality Dodge Ram over a Nissan Titan I would have.

they need to advertise more and do something about some of the known common problems which they seem to want to pretend aren't there. Its an awesome truck but they are doing a horrible job trying to sell it.

That would be a sad moment for all Titan owners. I can imagine that our dealer service would not be improving if that were to happen.

All of us on here and at CT should do mass emails to Nissan and tell them excatly the quote above. After reading that article I wish I could go out and buy 10 of these trucks and keep them on storage so I will always have this great truck

The only time I see a Titan commercial is during the Heisman Trophy run-up

While I can't say I am happy about this turn of events, I predicted this on this board about 6 months ago.
I couldn't see how Nissan could keep the Titan in production with declining sales, huge warranty claims, increased competition, MSRP price increases twice in a few months.

It ain't over until the Frenchman sings.

Until then, it's just rumors.

The pick-up truck segment of the market for ALL companies will live or die on the rising price of fuel.

If gas keeps jumping like some of the predictions, sales of all pick-ups will drastically decline and the Titan won't be the only one to stop production.

You can bet the Tundra would be next, and Ford would be in deep doo-doo because of the decline of the F-150.

Only two things wrong in this picture, one was the reliability factor, and two has been the non effective and little presence of any marketing.
Nissan has really worked hard to solve the reliabilty factor, now it needs to work on the advertising end. May I suggest the Richards group based out of Dallas Texas I have been to their Headquartes and let me tell you they are one of the best in the business.

They are known for the Corona beer ads and others, they have won numerous awards. What are you waiting for Ghosn times a wastin!!!:crying:

If it really came to no more Titans being available - I would buy a Nissan Armada - take it to the body shop and have them back- half it and remove the second set of rear seats. Add a bed from any truck available with a sturdy tail gate - paint to match and you have a do it yourself Titan pickup with a strong rear, powerful brakes and a very nice ride. All it takes is really wanting something bad enough. Nissan will get the message if they see enough Amada pickups running around the American roads.

I agree that Nissan has not marketed this truck like they should have. I think it would be premature to throw in the axe know though, supposidly Nissan was well into designing the next gen. Titan, and that would all go down the drain.

Do you really feel that is a realistic option?

I don't know about that, if the Titan is discontinued, the Armada probably won't be far behind. It is basically the same platform as the Titan and Armada sales a less than half of the Titans sales.
