I am going to sell my '05 F-150 5.4 before I get into many problems (plugs, injectors, etc..)

I am looking for a used Titan 2X4 Crew Cab any year.

Is there anything I should look out for ?

Thanks

The 08s and up have bigger brakes and most of the bugs worked out. Just depends on your wallet I guess!

Yeah 06 and newer. 08 and newer you'll get a pretty solid truck (from what I hear). If you can, stray away from 04..myself and many others have had major issues. And 04 was new production year.

if you are going to mod the truck for performance..i would say get 07+..other wise a 06 is also a solid truck.

Yeah watch out for those Ford-owners who go "What! My F-150 is wayyyy better than your POS Titan! It's sooooooo much faster."

I owned an F-150 or three before I "saw the light" and received constant ridicule from those types about owning a "Jap truck."

I have had no problems with my 05. I would try to stay away from 04, but many have had no problems with there 04's either. I would look for an 06 or 07. 07 is when they started the VVT motors, which gives them a bit more power on the top-end. If your getting an early year Titan. Ask whether it has had the brake judder issue and any problems with the rear axle seals and differential. The newer you go, the less these problems had effect. But heck, I've seen 07-08's going for 15K around here with 20K miles or less

Alot of the '05's are also problem free. A larger intake manifold and VVT was introduced in the '07's and I think the 2007 and newer might possibly be getting a little better MPG than the 2004-2006 models.
