golfball

Driving next to a golf course yesterday in Jersey and out of the corner of my eye I catch a white blur moving real fast, then BAM. Right off of the middle of my windshield! It took me a second to figure out what happened, but then I realized that I just got nailed by a horrible golf shot. I don't know how the ball got through the 20 yards of woods that were running parallel to the fairway between it and the road. It was a line drive too. Scared the crap out of me.

I'm happy to report that although there was a white mark on my windshield, I was able to get wash it off. I'm just happy that it hit the windshield and not my bodywork.

I'm curious to know if the golf course liable for damage to passing cars? Luckily I didn't need to test that, but I would be interested to know.

most golf courses state all over the course the golfer is responsible for any shot hit into the street/houses what ever is by the course that causes damage.

Glad to see the winshield held up.
good eye! it wasn't the new course on the AC expressway by chance? I drove past there during the construction and thought more then once what fun it'd be to go mudding around a golf course under construction!

i'm realy surprised by the windshield, generally a rock at that velocity wins...
I'm glad your truck wasn't damaged. I wonder if that ball was "accidently" aimed at your truck by a Tundra owner lol.

that's probably only if you can FIND the person that hit the ball LOL I'm sure they know exactly where it went and disappeared or otherwise was unavailable

most course I see around Texas have TALL nets along roads just so this does not occur, either that or trees to slow the ball if it is hit int hat direction....
That's amazing that your windshield held up - Glad it did!

I've seen balls go over those supposed "protective" nets, hey sh!t happends. When I was young punk I used to hit balls into the street at the range. Of course karma hit me when I got hit in the chest by someone who was trying to hit balls in parking lot.
The golfer is responsible for it. Here in FL there are always houses lining the golfcourses. The owners dont think about golf balls hitting the house when buying it. Almost all of them have busted barrel tile on the roof or holes in the screen lani. None of the golfers ever fess up to it when asked. They always say they havent taken the shot yet and put another ball on the ground. So it is impossible to prove it unless you happen to be videoing it.
