got a question

I have an 04 xe titan with air box mod and stock 3" exhaust with flowmaster original 40 installed. I have 89000 miles on it and sometimes when I romp on it when I get to the higher rpm's it fights me a little like 4000 or so and up. Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this at all with their trucks. Thanks for any input. I have definitely learned alot from you guys about my truck and this site is pretty cool.

If you mean that when your truck doesnt keep pulling as hard when its in the high upper rpm's dont be afraid anything is messing up with it, Ive read alot on here that the titans fall on there face when the rpms are way up there and it doesnt pull as hard.
Check out a dyno of any one of the trucks and you can see that 80% of the power is made at the bottom end...

I assume you have your VDC off as well when going WOT?
I don't think that my xe has the vdc on it. I thought that was only on the upper models cause I don't have any way to turn it off. I am supposed to get my K and N filter today to go along with my air box mod so it should be interesting if it affects the way it runs when I open it up over the stock filter. My rear end was replaced before I bought the truck and I've got to say that if mine is indeed a non bt it sure runs like a badass for being geared higher than the big tow package. I would like to drive one with the big tow to see the difference in performance. I can smoke most anything around my area including the farmer boys with their rusted chevy trucks that think that they are bas ***. They think they are tough until they see me take off with the tires roasting down the road. It brings a smile to my face!
First thing, for performance, get rid of the Flowmaster-the only thing they outflow is stock mufflers. Their design is for that destinctive sound that we all love, and a little more flow over stock. There are much better performing mufflers out there that will help all that exhaust out where the Flowmaster is creating a boat load of turbulence at that engine speed. Your K&N drop-in will help, but mostly noticable off the line(at least mine was)up to about 4400rpms, after that mine felt like it "fell on its face". Then, after the Magnaflow, a less restrictive Y-pipe(not bigger, just better flowing) the engine pulls all the way to about 5200 before it "falls". Very noticable change. Whole new feeling to the way the truck performs.

The reason I brought up the Flowmaster to start with is because stock truck guys talk about the fall @4300-4600. Yours is a little earlier which makes me think the Flowmaster, while sounding terrific, may be hurting you a little at that range.
thanks for the info I am going to get the timing advance here soon and I'll have to look into changing the muffler. How does the magnaflow sound compared to the flowmaster? I like that deep loud tone but right now can't afford the banks exhaust. Maybe I'll wait and get it hopefully this next year sometime. I haven't heard the magnaflow yet and am curious about it. Unfortunately I only have computer access at work and it blocks me out of everything and it has no speakers. It kinda sucks!

I have the Magnaflow and a AEM Brute force CAI, It sounds awsome.......
The MagnaFlow is a straight through design, meaning, when I held it up, I looked straight through it from end to end with no obstructions. It has a perforated pipe with sound deadening packing around it. At crank, it barks(scares kids and blue hairs in WalMart parking lots, and always brings a smile). After warmed up, it is barely louder than idle. On the gas, it turns heads EVERYWHERE. A lot of people have said it that it is not loud enough on their Titan, but I love mine, and it has gotten louder as I have had it on. As far as performance goes, Magnaflow set the bar, and other manufacturers have been trying to catch up without patent infringement ever since! Simply put, nothing outflows it that I've heard or read about.
