This weekend I was looking through the service manual when I read a section concerning a diagnostic test for the guages and digital odometer/trip meter. Anyway, one of the tests is that all the lights on the guage cluster are activated. During the lamp test I noticed that directly to the left of the P N R D ..... scale on the digital readout is what looks like to be a digital readout for the speedometer. I only have an SE with the power package, I was wondering if this digital speedometer readout is activated on anybody's Titan like the LEs.

Thanks

Not on my LE CC. Where exactly in the service manual are you looking?

bg478,

Isn't that one of the trip meters (A or B)? You can cycle thru them by pushing and releasing the little staub sticking out to the left. Push and hold and it resets to zero.

Sold....: actually no. the readout I am talking about is to the immediate left of the trip readout. On my Titan it is an empty space. I would have never known it was their until I did the combination meter diagnostic test. I just think it would be cool to have a digital spped readout.

I did the systems check by holding in the tripmeter toggle/ reset button while turning the ignition on and found the following:

Directly to the left of the Gear position display is a digital readout as this thread suggests, but the units associated with it are Km/Hr. I would assume this can be turned on/off via some programming method in the manual.

But, yes, there is a space reserved for digital readout to the left of the gear indicator. Too bad it's not for M/hr. Would be fun to see both digital and analog.

So what's the thing BELOW the digital "speedometer" readout? It looks like it might be for the reverse sonar, or the "smart" speed control on the QX56.

My guess would be for the rear sonar. I posted in another thread asking if those with rear sonar have this display active. I guess we'll find out.
I've got rear sonar... but that display doesn't show up on mine while in reverse (and hearing the "beeps"). I went out and did the "self check" thing again and checked the direction the little vehicle icon is facing. It is for SURE the reverse sensor. It would be nice to have this little icon activated somehow.
