The dusting you are referring to, may be the rotor wearing if they're are not cryo treated rotors. I have a set on my Pathfinder, and get considerably LESS dust than I did the an over-the-counter 'Premium' pad I replaced. They also stop MUCH BETTER too. The old pads were a carbon metallic compound too.

99% of the Titan owners order the Hawk LTS pads. And none of them have reported any issues with dusting. However, the pads are ordered along with the cryo-treated rotors, which are obviously much more resistant to wear.

Silverstar,

I understand! We are offering a 10% discount to Titan Talk members. Everything seems expensive, and for that reason we try to offer the most value for the money being spent. For MOST Titan owners this is the last stop (no pun intended!) for brakes on these trucks. The 08 upgrade was and is an improvement, however even those owners are experiencing pre-mature wear and problems. Some have reported the rotors and pads needing replacement after just 5000 miles.

It's a lot less costly to replace pads...than rotors ALL THE TIME.

Your actually beating the odds if you've gone this far before replacing brakes! Nice looking truck BTW : ).

Beason,

Slotted and Drilled really don't add much to the longevity of the rotors. In some heavy duty / high heat applications, the drilled rotors MAY develop cracks stemming from the drilled holes. For best all round wet and dry use, the slotted rotors offer the value and performance longevity benefits. Slotting removes any water that builds up on the face of the rotor and pad, during wet weather use. Plus it helps lower the temperature of the rotors, while also serving as a 'wiper slot' cleaning the pads with each wheel revolution. Contrary to some, the slots DO NOT cause pre mature pad wear.
We do offer a slotted and cross drilled rotor, however they are generally used to compliment the 'looks' of the vehicle.

Just an FYI.

Hope that helps.
