Hard Shifting When Cold

I've noticed that when the truck is cold (<20 deg F), the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are quite firm. After about 5 miles of driving, it returns to normal. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

I have noticed what you describe. Seems normal to me. I think the first shifts of most transmissions are a little different when below 20 degrees.
