Has anybody removed the aluminum utility track rails from their Titan?

I bought a 2015 slightly used Titan that has them, and personally I see no reason to leave them in the bed. I think they look awful against the black truck and black sprayed-in bed liner.

There were no tie-down cleats in the truck (did the original owner keep them?), and I see that the cleats are about $25 each. (Yeah, I saw that I could jury rig eye-bolts, spring nuts, and washers.)

But I foresee no time when I will ever tie anything down in the bed.

I might leave the utility track rails in the bottom of the bed. They are covered with rubber strips.

But the side utility track rails are ugly and useless to me.

What's under them? I.e., is the bed sprayed underneath the rails?

Thanks.

Yes, liner is under them. gonna spend some time removing them and there will be anchor holes left behind. I'd just get additional rubber strips to cover them. If you must remove them, I'll take em off your hands!

You don't think you'll use them until you actually need them and you've taken them off. I use mine all the time just for tying things down instead of the built in cleats in the front/rear of the bed.

I find the rails in the bed and on the sides incredibly useful. Removing them will leave holes and possible trap water between liner and bed? Maybe not.

Sorry cant help with what you want to do.
