I want to get rid of my factory bedliner, but I am concerned that there will be scratches or marks on the bed. The truck is an 06 model so it has been in almost 2 years.

I am going to be ordering an a.r.e tonneau cover in a couple of weeks, and I would like to take it out before having cover installed. Maybe I can use some touch up paint on the bed. I hate to spend money on spray in liner when I will not be using the bed that much anyways. I already have a bed mat ready to go in it when bedliner comes out.

You really don't want to do the mat thing either, moisture will be trapped under it and if you have scratches through the paint it will rust even faster, take the advice and do it right, do the Line-X. I have the same thing in mine and that is what I am going to do, that plastic junk is outta there and Line-X is in, BTW anybody want a drop in liner? Free if you pick it up. Mine is Granite color too, hmmmm musta been a curse for the Granite color trucks.
