I got the idea from one of Qwikwhip's Thread. Since nobody got around to actually putting it on a truck. My friend and I decided to take on the project. We started it late yesterday afternoon. We got everything finished up this morning. It took us long because of the whether, well mostly sanding it down. We try our best to get everything sanded down so no silver was shown. My friend took 4 hours sanding down the left headlight. It took me 3 hour. But it wasnt too bad of a project. As far as lighting output goes i dont know yet. I have to wait until tonight to do some testing. Then I'll update everybody. Now my Titan is original for now at least. haha Enjoy!

that looks nice... but what about those goofy orange lenses for the blinkers? Did you try to remove those? What did it look like underneath them, chrome?

Yeah we had to take out the oragne deflectors so we could paint the housing. Underneath the oragne deflector was a thin sheet of thin or something. I could have just taken it out but being in the area I was in, I wanted my turn signal orange otherwise I would have put something else in. Also those are tricky to take out. I got mine out by sliding it forward while prying it with a little screw driver and it popped out.

You sanded them?? This was a popular mod with Accord owners (7th gen). But when they do it, they just spray paint the areas that you sanded with flat or gloss paint, depending on the look they wanted. I think they used high temp paint.
P.S.
They also removed the reflectors and replaced them with clear ones. But I haven't seen any clear ones for the Titan yet.

Looks really good !! I did the same thing with my Matrix. Removed the lights put them in the oven @300 until the glue became soft enough to seperate the lens from the housing. With blue masking tape cover all the areas to be left chome. The most time consuming is detail taping.I never sanded mine, just sprayed 2 light semi gloss heat temp coats. When tape is removed heat lights up again to get glue soft and bond the lens.

I was one of those 6th generation Accord owners and the mod isn't that bad as long as you take your time. I used a high temp flat black paint.....took the orange reflectors (no clear replacements), resealed them with high temp waterproof sealant.....and no the headlights don't melt at 300......they do get hot though :smokingco

Thanks guys! Yeah its a little time consuming. But other than that I just took my time. But its definately worth it imo. I put mine at about 290 degree. I started out with 200 to be safe. And didnt do anything haha. I think the only problem I really ran into was being a little nervous. I figure since i went this far, then there wasnt any chance turning back if I messed up. :evillaugh

I've seen those on Accords too. They really make big diffference on Honda headlights. I think anything with a black housing adds a nice touch to a headlight.

Oh yeah, went out last night for some testing and the light output is the same. I do not notice any difference now with it painted. So light output did not change. Both low and highbeam. :smokingco

looks good and unique, but i have a few issues:

1 - the lens looks foggy now, not quite as clear
2 - the orange turn signal. someone else did this, and tinted theirs smoke. you should have done the same.

i can't remember who did this also and baked his lights. maybe Big Titan, or Black Titan. can't remember.

i'll search and see what i can find.

The lens does look foggy. Lol. I think its because its from our hands which was getting the lens dirty. Also It was getting ready to rain and I hurried up and snap some pics. Then we went to a car wash bay to finish taking the picture haha. Forgot about wiping down the headlights before taking pics. I'll get some better pics up later today

Ley me know if you need some extra motivation. By the way, how much was the XE Red Brawn grill? Ans where did you get it?
I actually bought one that was Deep Water off Ebay for $128 and had it painted along with my door handles and engine cover. Paint work was $150 for all of it. I just got tired of waiting for a Red Brawn grill to turn up somewere. :)

I think it looks nice on your truck. But I kind of like all the chrome on my ride. I was just thinking of getting the Street Scene grill, but Didn't want to overpower the front end with all that chrome. I know I can get the grill in differnt finishes, but I just don't know how they will look on a Red Brawn truck (besides in black of course). Oh well, its not like I've got the extra cash right now anyway.

That looks a bit different than I thought it would. I've always been a huge fan of black housing lights, but I think with the chrome grill and bumper, you kinda need the chrome housings to make a complete package.

I see what Aggie means, they do look like they have condensation already. I did the homemade housings project for one of my previous cars, and despite caution and time, moisture inevitably got the best of me...

Kudos to you for taking on a large project, I think if they would look great on any color, it would be the smoke! I actually prefer the orange reflector, makes for a more OEM appearance.

Hey guys these are pretty nice. There is alot of work involved in taking apart the lights. Did you ever think of overlays??? These are smoked vinyl pieces with an adhesive backing that apply to the exterior of the lights. Heres a picture of the ones I got . I think I am going to request that he design the lower smoked piece too like the original first post here.
This guy also sells the full smoked tail lights, all you need to do is contact him and you can order them direct.
Here is the eBay URL for this item. Titan Headlight Overlays

Mods that look good take time, some would half-asss it using that tint.

This is not half asssing it..... .Thats your opinion but if you want you can bake you headlights in the oven, get moisture inside of them or even melt them. You can not even tell that these are on the outside of the light unless you 3 inches from it. Back off...!!! I was sharing something here and your being an asss. I have been a part of this forum for 2 days and its people like you that make a bad impression.
