I could use a little advice on my 2014 Titan heater switch. The past few years as summer turns to fall and I crank on my heater she still blows cold air. I had my local dealer and mechanic look at it and they could not find a definitive problem. The only fix was driving her to operating temperature and then "burping" the reservoir and radiator caps. After that boom I have heat again. I had to repeat this several times last winter. Now that Fall had hit I warm her up on cooler mornings and nothing..... just cool AC to defrost my windows. I am thinking about doing a complete cooking system flush and fill maybe it might free a stuck valve? Any thoughts my friends? Thanks !

There is a valve (between two rubber hoses) on the firewall in the engine bay just to the left of the engine. The gears in this valve often break, it is what allows hot coolant to get to the heater core. I believe there is one screw holding the cover on it. Pretty easy to pull it off and look inside to see if the gears are broken

Any dealer that doesn’t tell you the problume is covering up a big issiue. The heater selecter damper slips over the pin.
It’s very intense to repair.
I proved my self correct at my local Nissan dealer recently. I was thinking of trading in truck and when going over details of my trade I said the heater issiue was repaired and works. His face was priceless.... in that he said ok. That proved to me that there is a problume that is known behind the scenes.

Thanks guys for your input. I truly hope fishnalaska is right and jabber is wrong ( although it is worthy advice) Pulling the whole dash apart is not something I want to get into ?. I will keep you posted. If you have any other thoughts or advice i would appreciate it.

You might want to get the engine cooling system pressure tested. It sounds like air is getting introduced into the system. Or, you simply haven't evacuated all the air out of the system. The one-time burp resolves that accumulation of air but then over time it builds up again.
