hi,

I dont like to use the gentex mirror buttons for my garage door, they are always on and i dont want me or my wife forgetting the garage door remote on the sunvisor.

we have multiple cars and if we leave one in the driveway with the remote anyone can easily open the garage door after busting in a window.

I pretty much did exactly this:

I took a spare one button garage door remote and put that thing in the overhead console. I have a Titan with a sunroof so my fwd sunglass holder overhead console is the small one. im sure for those with the large one their is more work to remove theirs.

Location between plastic standoffs on backside - i didnt measure exactly correct between the two and had to use a knife to cut the stand off in order for the buttom nut to mount:

Button installed - view at gap:

Thanks,

This pic shows where i drilled and how i missed the dimension on drilling and had to chop up some of the stand off to get the button nut to mount:

in the end it works very well.

I ended up mounting the circuit board to the very AFT end, so i can easily remove the face panel and do battery changes with out having to pull down the console.

I didn't get a final pic, but this is Where i mounted at circle, so that i can remove face plate and change batteries every few years:

enjoy.
