Good one.

Anyway....back to your question. I would bet lunch that it's just air moving over or through your intake system making the whistle/whine. Mine does it.....I have narrowed it down to where the air enters the intake from the fender.:dunno:

I drilled out the drain hole in the bottom of my intake and that caused it to whistle/wine? Maybe check yours, could be something lodged in yours?

Just took 05 to dealer for 30k service and had recommended differential fluid change and fuel injector cleaning done during same visit - immediately came away with a whistle/whine. Sound occurs anytime gas pedal is pressed, but only while driving, very noticable 20-40mph. Sound never existed before 30k maint. Dealer can't find or fix problem, and later said this is common and were suprised I hadn't heard it before now. Dealer believes it is related to intake plenum.

I had the same issue. I thought it was for sure coming from the driveline. Turns out it was the power steering pump. It started making alot of noise in parking lots when I turned the wheel alot at low speed. I already posted how I fixed the power steering whine.

Basically got Lucas Power Steering leak stop fluid.
