Good Afternoon all.

I've come across a listing for a 2016 Pro-4X Titan XD with the infamous 5.0 cummins. It's got 125000kms on it and the dealership is asking 40K here in Canada. I know of the issues/risks with this engine and I am wondering if it's worth taking a look at.

Thanks

Thanks guys, my thoughts but thought i'd ask anyways. Was there any good year for the 5.0?
Yes. Any that don’t have the name Nissan Titan. Cummins used the biggest hunk of junk they could for Nissan…. Just didn’t marry as well as intended. It sucks because it could have been the start to something truly awesome. 😔

if you've driven one with the diesel, set your expectations appropriately, and you like it for what it is...then I think it's worth taking a look. just make sure you get an extended warranty :)

I've driven lots of the 5.0L diesels and the 5.6 in XD and regular Titan variety. I LOVE the 5.6L gas engine, but I bought a 2018 XD with the Cummins and I do love it. I knew exactly what I was getting, and I have a lifetime powertrain warranty. I'm still very happy with my decision every time I drive it.

That one has too many miles 125,000,000 - look for one with the gas engine 2018 and up .

The following is very interesting and great advice. Now I'm glad that I didn't purchase diesel for two reasons prices of fuel and the problems I've read about in this post!

or you can get a diesel that actually has power and isnt snapping the crankshaft.
