Honeymoon?

Is there any resorts like Sandals but in the Mountains of the US? It dosen't matter if its East coast or West coast...My wife and I are trying to plan a Honeymoon, but we live in San Diego and there is no reason to pay 6 grand for the beach, when we live at the beach. We want something in the Mountains or maybe at a ranch. Or maybe some where like Gatlinberg TN. Were both out doors people and like quading and 4x4'in. Any thoughts?

Ur not going to find a sandal in the mountains, I live in a small town in the Adirondacks, our town is called the gateway to the Adirondacks and let me tell you lol theres not to much around here. Your best bet would be going to Lake George, NY, you surrounded by mountain and such but its also has so cool attractions. ANDDDd REALLY GOOD FISHING!
Gatlinburg, TN is a great place to visit. There are lots of timeshare type places that have suites for the low low for rental

Lake George area is beautiful. As is the Lake Placid area. Plenty of tiny cozy places to stay tucked in the mountains.
hit up a ski resort in colorado. we rented a condo there for a week years ago and had a blast.

we stayed at copper mountain, but there are plenty others.
I vote Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Pocono Mountains. I've never been but I'd like to.
check out stonecreekcabins.com. they have two cabins and they are back in the woods on 23 acres. that is where i went for my honeymoon. cool place.
Check out Estes Park Colorado. Beutiful area with stunning mountains. It is one of the gateways into Rocky Mountain National Park.
I vote Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
I loved Jackson Hole Wyoming! It was a guys trip though so I'm not sure on the Sandals type amenities the OP is interested in. We went out for snowboarding but enjoyed the town of Jackson as well as the snowmobile tour through the Tetons.

I'm about an hour and a half from the Poconos and I have no idea why people travel so far for such small mountains..... People from Japan come here to ski the Pocono mountains. Maybe it's just a stop on the US tour but I'd definitely stay west!

We camp in Lk George a LOT every single summer (LG RV park, King Philips etc) but I don't think you have to fly completely across the country to find a nice mountain resort with good fishing etc....lol.
Not in the US but Banff up in Canada is Spectacular! San Juans up in Washington are nice too.
Cool thanks for all the suggestions, has anyone taken a cruse?

I went on a cruise with the family this past summer. We went on a Carnival cruise to Jamica, Grand Cayman, and Cozemel. It was a 7 day cruise. It was a lot of fun, there is plenty of good food available to you 24hrs a day. There is also a formal dinner every night with 4 star dining. There is also a casino, activities like movies on the big screen on the main outdoor deck, music etc. The only drawback is you only get like 8-12 hrs at each destination. You get a chance to plan an excursion a night or two before each place. For example we booked a swim with the stingrays in the Cayman islands. If you dont want to pay for a planned excursion you can just get off the ship at each place and shop ot sightsee for a few hours. The family enjoyed the cruise as did I. Oh yeah your gonna be drunk like 70% of the time lol.
I've been on 3 cruises on royal carribean and carnival. I'll loved both cruise lines. We planned most of our excursions about a month before the cruise because alot of them fill up fast. Ther is always something to do on the ships. And if the know its your honeymoon they always treat you special like champgne or wine waiting for you in your the captain comes to your table and congratulates you. They are alot of fun. I will be going on another next gestalt I can't wait!
I would cast a vote for Pigeon Forge, TN. We (family of 19) go there every October. Cabins, attractions, mountains, ghost mountain, mel's diner, outdoor hot tubs.

Vail, Colorado has lots of upscale honeymoon resorts and outdoor adventures are close by (as in walking distance). 4x4 and ATV opportunities are also there.
Cool thanks for all the input
