Who has one on their Titan?

Where did you purchase it, how much did it cost (shipping/handling)?

Nissanpartspeople charge $59.50 for the OEM protector but want $40.20 to ship it.

Are you happy with your choce? Problems? Install?

Photos, if you have them, please.

I've noticed that the hood is starting to show some chipping and want to protect the paint. Anyone else do anything about it/alternative solutions?

I'm looking for an alternative of buying it from the Dealer but will if I must.

Thanks y'all!

Here is a site you may want to look at. The shipping is only $15.00 for the shield. I bough Husky mats from them and the shipping was free. Good luck as I am also looking for one and will porabbly order from here.

I did see them there also just want to make sure they will fit and what kind of quality they are. I would also be interested if anyone bought one from E-bay.

I haven't but I also e-mail the seller and they could not tell me if that one required any drilling. Autoventshade is notorius for advertising no drill...but normally the tape method doesn't hold it very well and you end up drilling anyways (This was on our previous Pathfinders). Personally, I don't want to drill and I am probably going to go with the Nissan one once someone confirms its no drill!

I got the fronts fine and I was told the backs were in production. I have paid for them and they have been nice to work with. They are not the same as the Armada.

Got One!

OK, I broke down after all and got the OEM from my Nissan Dealer when I went in for warranty work and first servicing.

The protector goes on without any drilling or mods to the hood. It is held on by 5 clips and 7 screws. There is 3M protective tape for where the clips go on the hood and tape for the 6 "bumps" on the under side of the deflector as well as the top of the grill where the hood clips might hit to prevent damage to the paint and chrome. If you take your time and read the directions FIRST, it goes on easy and you'll be done anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

With the nice weather the bugs are out not to mention more driving with rocks, gravel and stuff.

Here's some photos. :teethmast

I have had the stock OEM hood protector sitting in the garage for a couple of months. The dealer has not been able to supply the center clip. He doesn't even communicate with me. I think that I will be returning it this week and buying an aftermarket chrome protector.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Nissan Auto Parts Mall including the hood protector. It was about $62.00 and if you order over $100 in parts the shipping is free (bulky packages require more $$). They were very friendly and it should be here the end of this week.

In case anyone is interested in pricing, i also ordered the OEM crew cab step rails for $299 plus $50 shipping, but they are on backorder. Should be here in 2 weeks. Can't wait. I'll post pics when it's all installed.

I just ordered the hood protector from my dealer on Saturday. When I bought the truck, the sales manager offered it to me at cost - $56.00 [$58 after sales tax]. I should be picking it up from the dealer this week.

A couple of other sites to consider for Nissan accessories and parts:
www.courtesyparts.com
www.nissanparts247.com
I ordered the spare tire lock and a set of locking wheel lugs from the latter. I believe they offered a 15% discount for online orders and the shipping for my order was under $6. A friend has ordered items for his 350 Z from Courtesy without any issues.

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with either of these dealers and have nothing to gain from future sales.

dealer cost on accessories

Does anyone have additional figures on dealer cost on accessories. I would love to know in order to use this as a bargaining tool. I expecially interested in the utiltrac items: bed extender, bed divider, tool box. Also so items as first aid kit...etc. thanks

Everybody better get the hood protector, I haven't and washing my truck I noticed several paint chips (must be soft). I am waiting on one to come in but boy is the front of the Titan taking a beating. I'm gonna have to get some touch up paint!

I have these on my headlights and foglights. Thinking of putting it on the hood as well. Just have to work out the costs.

I would post a picture of them, but they are almost impossible to see in a photo. It is also hard to see them when looking directly at them as well.

I had this coating on my Pathfinder's hood. Didn't like it at all. The main reason was that my Pathfinder was white and it showed all the dirt around the edges even when clean. Maybe on a darker vehicle it would be nicer to look at and less evident. Also it was dealer installed before i bought the vehicle and the dealer did a crap job on it.

It worked pretty well until a rock the size of a quarter flew from a passing truck and hit the front of the hood. Put a quarter size dent in the hood under the clear cover.

I have the OEM protector coming this week so i hope it works out well. It'll be the first protector of this type i've had on a vehicle.

When I was pricing my Titan, if I remember correctly, Cars.com had the info you are looking for. They would price out everything at retail and also at dealer cost. Give it a try. :)
