So I have a 2006 Nissan Titan se 4x4 Big tow. It is throwing both catalyst bank codes because of manifold leaks and possible failing cats. My truck has 180k miles. I'm also getting a EVAP canister code. The issue I'm having is my truck is getting terrible gas mileage all the time. But what's weird is my slip light come on and stays and when it does my gas mileage goes back to normal. I have new plugs in it. IDK what it could be. A friend told me its getting stuck in open loop but I don't know. Someone please help. I'm barely getting 200 miles to a tank when I used to get 350-400

It's your manifolds. You need to get that fixed before the cats break up and total your engine. Headers and uprev is way cheaper than an engine, that will eventually need the headers for anyway. Call Cajun b-pipes they can help you solve your problem.

cracked manifolds, need to be replaced before cats disintegrate and get sucked back into the engine and destroy it

A S.W.A.G. (sophisticated wild *** guess).....Slip is based on ABS triggers. Do some hard, ABS activating stops when the light is on, and when it's off. If you get brake chatter in one condition, but not the other, you may be losing a pump, sensor or connection in the ABS system. I've found the Slip light issue more often than not is from a crudded up rear sensor that just needs to be cleaned. If your ABS system isn't operating properly, it's rare, but you could be dragging a caliper, or two, and that drops mpg.

I recommend solving one problem at a time before tackling another......keeps more hair in your scalp over time.

I appreciate all the reply's everyone. This gas mileage issue has been a major burden on me. Almost to the point where I may have to sell my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I will try what you guys said to do with the exhaust when I get the funds. Hopefully soon!

Most guys on here immediately assume manifolds. If your manifold has been leaking for years, which mine has as well, and you now have an evap code. Look in to evap as the culprit, as evap purges in to the combustion chamber, you use less fuel, to burn the evaporative gasses, also keeps it cooler, start with evap.
