Hello all.

I need some input or " what would you do"

I said in my introduction thread that I allowed my brother in law to borrow my Titan so he could move out west.
He basically DESTROYED my truck. He didn't wreck it. But the Interior is trashed.. Front end ( ballpoints, tie rods, tires, brakes, rotors,Calipers,Sway links etc) all were SHOT.

So i replaced all of that and got an alignment. Its not too bad now.

BUT :(

As i started to argue with my brother in law ( whos a great guy btw just dumber then a bag of bent nails )
I said its got 140k now..I gave it to him with just over 110.

I said did you ever service the trans? He said yea & gave me this half torn receipt from a tire shop in Salt Lake.
it says 14.5qt BG Trans service. Now BG is bad news as im reading.. MY TRANS DOESNT SLIP..Its fine but I know it's time for a service.

ive ordered Amsoil for the front and rear diffs...
BUT WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THE TRANS??...Local dealer wants 300 for a full trans service..

If anyone is doing a poor mans flush I'd like to see it done. where are the trans coolant lines etc??...Im thinking about buying a 5 gallon bucket and putting 15 quarts into it.. ( would be 3.75 gallons ) and doing the poor mans flush. What would you guys do?

I know the poor mans flush will be more expensive but with Amsoil It would be well worth it..

Input please. Heres a pic of the truck. http://i.imgur.com/8e8F9T3.jpg

Let's get this out of the way first, ok. At 110,000 miles, your ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway links were ready for replacement anyway....BUT, I would want something in return for a 30,000 mile truck loan, holy crap that's a long time!

The transmission is something I think you're over-reacting about. Does it still function like it did before? There's no reason why a healthy unit can't go at least 30,000 miles without service. If it works fine, do a spill and fill and forget it.

The tires, brakes, and interior are the things I'd be most upset about. I'd be demanding several hundred dollars just for those items alone.

I loaned my brother my s10 blazer for a couple days to use while I changed a blown head gasket on his Chrysler LeBaron turbo for him.

He had no money.. 2 kids (at the time).. had to get to work.. and I used to try really hard to be a decent guy.

Free machine shop work, parts at cost(my boss took pity on him)... free labor on the install(me.. my time).

He brought the truck back, took his car... I got in it next day to drive to work... it reeked inside...bad
I called him.. said WTF happened in my truck.
His kid (my niece) had puked all over the back of the truck... he said he cleaned it. Guess you shouldn't feed a 5yr old brownies for breakfast...
There was about a gallon of vomit in around and under the seat that he "missed". I could spend a day rebuilding the top end of his car for him, he couldn't be bothered to flip the seat forward and use a couple extra paper towels...
Lesson learned.

No one will take care of your stuff like you do. Not even when you are helping them out.
