With a spindle, probably even 4.5" is necessary for that wide of a tire, (to clear the spindle). But the further out you go, the more likely you will need the pinch weld mod.
Of course being a 33" instead of a 35" diameter tire is going to help. Also, depending on what size rim they spec'd the 13.3" tire width on, it might be narrower. BFG states to subtract .2" of width for every 1/2" less of rim width ... so if it was a 10.5" rim and you get 9" rims, they would be about 12.7" wide.
I know someone with a PC 6" lift and 35x12.5x17 BFG Mud Terrains that had a little rubbing at full steering lock, with Moto-Metal 951, 9" wide w/4.5" b.s., but the pinch weld mod solved the problem.
I think I recall the track increasing slightly from the spindles, but don't know for sure ... anyone?
I hit a pothole last week pulling off a paved road onto a dirt road at not fast speed but hard enough that tire hit the inner wheel liner. Immediately after a clunk noise started when stopping hard, or turning sharply. Also every time I pull over our rolled curb into my driveway, when I back out...
Well... after a long weekend of work, my 6” Pro-Comp stage 2 coilovers kit is installed. Completed kit in driveway by myself. So anyone wondering if you can do it alone.... you can. Basic hand tools, 2 sets of jack stands, a lift and a differential lift. I still need to relocate the front...
My 2004 has developed a clunking noise from the right rear, especially when accelerating over uneven pavement. Putting 2 and 2 together, I think there's a chance that the rubber that's presumably in the front leaf spring bushing got cooked by my side exhaust that's right below it.
Recently bought a new set of mud tires for my 2011 Nissan Titan S Crew Cab and now I am planning to add at least 3-inches if ground clearance to it. What brand of suspension lift kit should I consider buying?
Are there any major differences other than price with PRG 1.5" spacers and ones from street rays on eBay? The ones on eBay are about $100 less. From everything i can see they are about the same but i am no way an expert. I want to put it on a 2018 SL.
