Whats up I'm new here but I've been trying to figure out how to wire my led footwell lights to be controlled by the dome light switch in my 07 nissan titan. Doing this will give you the option to turn the dome light/ footwell lights on at the same time by the switch on the headliner whenever you like instead of using the cargo light switch which in turn will only turn on the footwell lights so this helps it seem more OEM. now my model doesn't have the overhead console so this might or might not work with those who have them. So here's a simple write up.

First start off by removing the dome light switch. You pop it open with a flat head screw driver. Underneath are two screws unscrew them and then give it a tug and it should come off easily. Behind the assembly is a little white clip that gives power to the dome light. Just unplug it. Now you can take it to you table to begin the mod. I used 18 gauge wire as I did with my footwell lights. You'll probably need about 5ft of wire. (I forgot to measure lol) you'll need a soldering pen and some solder. If you want to install an led in your dome light nows the chance. I just bought mine off of amazon. Before you install you'd want to solder a resistor to the back of the led so you don't have the dreaded slightly on led mess. You will need a 1k ohm 1/4 watt resistor. I bought mine at radioshack they're about a buck and some change.

Here is the resistor soldered to the back of the led.

After you're done with that set it aside and grab the dome light assembly. Now I forgot to take pictures of the my soldering cause it was late at night and was kind of rushing but the picture shows exactly where I soldered. Now you have to solder exactly in those locations because of how the assembly is setup and grounded. You'll notice that there is a positive, negative, then ground. That's why when I tried (and other people tried) to tap into the wires through a pillar it would work to power the footwell leds but to shut them off it wouldnt. Here's the pic

After your done with that you can install the led into the dome light. Now take your dome light assembly with your bundle of wire and measure and cut length needed. Measure from the dome light location, across the headliner towards the passenger pillar and down to the fuse box location which is where all my footwell lights meet and connect. Now you can start disassembly of the passenger side pillar(which I forgot to take pictures of but it's straightforward) and the handle on the headliner by the door.

The bolts for the handles on the pillar and headliner are 10mm. After you do that set them aside and make sure you dont lose the bolts! I lost one and had to go purchase one lol. You can begin removing the weather stripping on the cab. You only need to pull down on it and it'll come off. You only have to do the top by the headliner and the area by the pillar and just let it hang there.

Now you need to remove the visor to give you more play. Take your flathead and remove the litttle cover to get to the bolts. You'll need a star? Attachment or screwdriver to get these off.

Now you should be able to pull down on the headliner slightly to give you room. Now get a hanger and un fold it and make it straight as possible. You'll use it to fish the cables through the dome light hole to the a pillar. Now I know you might think why not go straight towards the door since it's a shorter route but there is insulation? Up there but if you go across directly towards the pillar it will be easier as there is none there because of the indent there. What I did was base myself off the direction and sound the hanger was making on the roof. If you get stuck it's because your hitting the insulation. Take your time.

Once you get the hanger pretty far in look in through the top of the headliner and stick your hand in there to get the wires. Once you got the wires pull them all they way through and remove the hanger.

Reassemble your dome light. Pull the slack all the way through and the use the hanger again to fish the wires through the dash where the pillar was.

Now tap them together with your footwell lights.

Now you can reassemble everything and enjoy your oem style led footwell lights! now they'll all turn on and off when you unlock your truck or while your driving and need to look for something by using the little switch at the dome light.

Here are some pictures.

Here's where Installed the leds. Front

For the rear I put them on that bar that's part of the seat bracket.
