How to get the change tray

I spoke to customer support 1-800-Nissan1. I spoke to a nice woman on the phone, and gave her my vin. I then politely explained that I had heard that the change tray was now being shipped as a standard item, which I would have liked, but did not know it was an option at the time of purchase. She asked me to wait on hold while she researched the information. She then gave me a case # and told me to contact the dealer. They would either get it for me at no cost, or if they charged me I was to call her and provide bill of sale vin, and receipt for a refund.

Nice and easy to deal with!

BTW with the snow here I have been using 4wd and got 15 mpg. THIS IS GREAT ON GAS! My V6 never did this well

I just called the 1-800-NISSAN-1 number and I was told that the coin tray is an accessory and not a standard option for the Titan. I feel that he might just be blowing smoke up my a$$. :crying:

Just wait until you get your coin tray. You have been screaming and crying for this thing. When you finally get it you will look at it and say "What a minor piece of sh!t!" It is truly nothing to get excited about. I was amazed that they list the price so high. I would not pay more that $5 for it, really.

Amen. I took mine out as it blocked access to the DVD player.
i need one of those coin holders tray thingamabobs, what do i need to do again? the coin holder i use on the upper left of the dash is worthless, especially when i accelerate like a jack rabbit, all the coins go flying all over the place. :jester:

The numbers on the back are: 969 25 7S000
4ASX-044082-AE

There is an illustration on pg 2-33 of the owners manual. I went back and showed my salesman and he gave me one from an Armada on the lot.

She gave me a claim No. and Fax No. and said call me on my direct line and I will take care of it for you. :)
Can you post her name and number so we can all speak to her?

Yes...please do so :)
We are not allowed to post their names per their request. To do so would probably cause those trying to get some help to lose that 'friend' on the phone.

Simply do what everyone else has done and call 1-800-NISSAN-1, and talk to whomever you get on the phone. If they don't know anything, ask to be transfered to someone who does. Otherwise, hang up and call back to get another person.

It took me one call to get satisfaction and that was over 3 months ago.
I looked at page 2-33 in the manual for the illustration of the center console coin tray. As I mentioned in another post, I took the one from my Tundra before trading it in. I mounted it in the Titan in the same place with double stick tape. I wasn't even aware we're supposed to have one, and didn't know where it should be when I mounted my own. How are the ones from Nissan mounted? There doesn't seem to be anything but a smooth surface in the center console.

When I took delivery of my truck, I convinced my dealer that the coin holder was a standard item and was missing. Funny thing was, the parts department could not find an item number for it anywhere and so I supplied them with the one I found from post #25 of this string. They promptly ordered it and I picked it up a week later with no hassles free of charge.
No dice for me. Nissan says that it is not a standard feature yet. It will be coming out later this year and will not be standard on all truks. The nice lady told me I could order one from the dealer. They are not offering to remeburse me. I think that stinks!! Oh well.

I just got me one. I had my truck in for service and explained that some people's trucks were being delivered with the tray, and some were not. Once I said that, my service advisor yanked one from the parts room and handed it to me. I had no problems getting one and it is a 70 dollar part. I assure, I would never have paid 70 bucks for it. It's not even worth 5 bucks.
Incredible that Nissan Dealers don't have a consistent position on either the coin holder or the Big Tow accessory kit (box with stem, ball, wire harness). It seems there is an intent to deceive the customer! My dealer pleads ignorance, seems well-deserved!! Call goes to Nissan Tuesday.
I agree and the more I think of it the more I feel ripped off by Nissan. Everyone I got said the thing was not standard and I had to pay blah blah blah, so I did. Perhaps I should learn to complain to the right people...
Big Tow Accessory Kit?

What is the Big Tow Accessory Kit? Is it something I can order from Nissan and pay 5 times too much or was it something that was supposed to come with the truck that I've never heard about.

Well, if my memory serves me correctly, nobody else has gotten a kit like that - I think this one person got lucky.

In my case (and the others too), the brake controller adapter was in the glove compartment.
The fabled towing accessory kit (a second cardboard box under the rear seat) was reported by at least a couple of forum members in another post as having been in their trucks. I think it included the stem, ball, and harness to connect existing Big Tow connector to the trailer. This is different than the electric brake adapter harness (I did receive that.) If anyone can confirm this with real evidence, I sure would like to see a picture!
MORONS At Nissan USA PISSED me off this morning.

Claiming the coin holder is discontinued even though it is in my manual and on my sticker.

Also refuse to deliver the ball mount and hitch cover that is documented on their own website as coming with the hitch receiver (go to titan page, click accesories, then click on "hitch receiver" under tow package text and a pop up details the hitch receiver and its contents).

Also they have no knowledge of the problem with the center rear seat belt.

HA - My awesome salesman came thru and got me a tray from another car. Even gave me a towing kit with ball, ballmount, and pin. Screw the homeoffice -- power to the great guys at the Dealer!

Well, today I got the kiss-off from Nissan USA customer service. They left voice mail and repeated that coin holder is no longer offered and can do nothing for me. At least they replied, but 'no cigar'.
Go ask your salesman. SHow him the pic. If he's decent he will go and get one from an Armada. They do make it as an Armada part. Don't take no for an answer. It's in the manual too.
LOL - Remeber when we used to keep the change in our pockets
