Hey guys .

So heres the deal . My 2006 titan LE is making a humming noise while turning right only.

First thought was bearings but they seems to all be ok . Didnt find any loose and had it checked by dealer .

Dealer said the same thing about the humming but couldnt find where the issue was .

So im back to square one trying to find the issue. I just took my wheels off again . Front wheels and both brake pads seem to be rubbing as they seem to be touching and i cant get the wheel to spin freely . Im not getting any squeaking whatsoever though ... are they supposed to slightly touch? I doubt it ... if not what are possible remedies?

This is my first nissan and love it just want it to run like a top

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Brake pads coming into slight contact with the rotors is normal. Depending on how many miles you have, it's about time for new wheel hub bearings. I replaced mine with about 90K miles on them.

If you have 4x4 then it could be a CV joint. But CV joint failure in stock Titans are very rare.

Tricky.... I had a similar problem with another vehicle and it was hard to diagnose. I broke down and went to the dealer but mine would only hum when on the road. they could not get it to hum when they lifted it up on the rack and "drove" it. It ended up being a wheel bearing (dealer said i needed a new front differential for $3600!). I diagnosed it myself with a cheap remote microphone from harbor freight. Clipped the mic onto different areas under the car and drove while listening through the headphones. It was VERY obvious when I got near the bearing- much louder.

You can also try separating the brake pads from the rotor with a flathead; then try driving without applying thew brakes and see if the noise changes or stops.

Good luck. God, I get frustrated when owners are better at troubleshooting than a dealer.... I cant believe they told you "yeah, we hear it but have no idea whats up"

Take off the caliper. Then retest.
A) It still is difficult to spin: wheel bearing
B) Spins easy: bad caliper and must be replaced (also check rotor to make sure it hasn't been warped due to excessive heat)
